I personally am of the minority opinion, that Anna should come back for an episode. As she deserves to be more than a plot device, for William's feelings. Of course I am also going to advocate for Ruby and especially - Jasper to come back!

Anna can't come back because she's meant to be dead. Plus, there is really no reason for her to return because she has no unfinished business and she has no ties to anything that they could base a storyline around.

There was never any doubt Rebecca would be back next season. Though I'm not sure how Rebecca being in medical school will fit into the fabric of the show. I hope it won't turn out to be a ill-fitting subplot like the Suffragette story was in S8. It was obvious George would be with Nina at the start of S10, but I'll never find it realistic they would last for long and I don't think she'll add anything necessary to the show. I love fiesty and modern female characters in MM, but I'd like them to be useful to the plots. I didn't warm to the forced romance in 917 and I doubt I'll be interested in it next season either, especially if it'll be about making George into someone he's never been or wanted to be. I'm happy with George the way he's always been. |

The Murdochs build their new house and find a dead body in the ground/nearby.
Jasper returns.
Pendrick returns (We can't not have Pendrick!!)
Sally Pendrick returns (possibly?)
Ruby returns (maybe with a mystery of her own?).
Julia and William go to an orphanage to select a child for adoption and one of the kids is murdered?

Maybe there is rivalry about attracting parents? Perhaps the orphanage administator exploits this rivalry for bribes, service, or criminal purposes? I second the emotion about the returning characters: they give the show long term structure. |
