Yes, very stupidly even though she told William in the letter she loved him and would not marry Darcy if William said he loved her. It was a load of crap. I really have had enough. It's been 3 movies and 4 series of messing the fans around. I am not putting up with hoping Darcy dies or something in S5. I can't be bothered anymore.

Hi from Scotland. Sorry but that was the most stupid and disappointing ending possible. Julia made it clear to William that she didn't want to marry Darcy and even looked for William in the church as she was speaking her vows. But no, William, as usual, doesn't act and instead goes and releases the woman who killed the mock turtle. Really fed up now. Not at all a satisfying feel good ending at all :-( and no, he wasn't happy and, despite her 'smiles' at Darcy I'm guessing Julia isn't either. Would have preferred not to have watched it....

The producers really are fools if they think people will stick around for S5 hoping to get thrown a bone. It's too late now.

Is there supposed to be a fifth series? I'm really fed up about this now. Not going to get much from dvd sales - why on earth would we want to see them getting it all so wrong repeated?

I can't watch a S5, I really can't. We have had this back/forth for 4 series and a 5th would be ridiculous. The W/J drama has ruined the show for me now. I am a former watcher from tonight It's just no fun anymore.

I can't believe they jumped the shark on this show!! This whole season has subjucated the "mysteries" to the "love mystery". It was hard to concentrate on the murder of the week while waiting for W/J to wake up and set things right. I foresaw a future of them solving crimes together happily ever after. What on earth are the writers thinking? Forget about Julia not being able to have children. By the time the writers get things in order, they'll be too old!! I'm very unhappy. Time for Doc Martin.

Lucy, tell us it isn't so. Please. I'm afraid it's true... I actually loved the episode and can't wait (hopefully) for season 5!! I understand why everyone is annoyed though, I'm really hoping that it gets sorted in S5 but that's what we were hoping for this time!

I don't see how it can be sorted in S5. Julia is married, so Darcy would have to be killed off and then months of Julia mourning before W/J could happen. The bridges are burned.
I also didn't think it was even a good episode. The crime wasn't that great and the ending meant it all ended in a whimper.

They have the possibility to' wait for a season 5 and wait to' solve the W/J situation but not, they want to' end season 4 in this way..no words!someone please write to' Iden Ford and say him that this thing is absurd for the fans of the show..

Sorry, not sure I can even be bothered to watch now. The W/J thing ruined the actual storylines for me this series. Think they've pushed it too far for the viewers. Perhaps they imagine a happy ending will stop us watching but they hav got it so wrong. A new series with them working well together would have been perfect future viewing and the love interest could have been passed on to the younger constable - sorry can't think of his name... It just doesn't work now we know they both love each other but never get together. Really really fed up now....

Oh boy, only by reading this I want to slam my head against the desk. It's the Gilmore Girls season 7 fiasco all over again. fans want one thing, writers don't listen one bit (for whatever crappy reason) and by the end the fans are angry and frustrated, the show loses a lot of fans and in the GG case didn't get picked up for another season. Even if there will be season 5 I am not sure I want to watch it. Sure, Julia said they will never speak of it again, but she will be unhappily married, William will be unhappy watching it, fans will still hope for a reconciliation (which is impossible if Darcy doesn't die suddenly) and the whole show is ruined.
I really don't understand what the writers were thinking. I mean, imagine this as a book: Two people meet, fall in love, break up for some reason, tale unfolds with a lot of misunderstandings and then in the end, the grand finale and what happens? One decides it isn't worth it and keeps his mouth shut, the other enters a marriage she isn't 100% committed to. Book over. I would most likely throw it against the wall and scream in frustration. Even Romeo and Juliette had a happier ending! I was so excited about the episode and now I feel like not watching it at all. I seriously hope some Fanfiction writers will give me my happy ending. With other shows that has always helped so far. So please guys: Start writing!
