Here we go with another ep a day! I'm excited to watch this one. Sometimes I love this episode more than anything, sometimes I hate it. Today I love it!
1. When I originally watched this episode I had accidentally spoiled myself as to what would happen. I'm glad that I had. I would have been so entirely upset. I cannot even begin to imagine watching it when it aired. It's killing me now and I've watched it so many times! Waaaaa!
2. I cannot decide if I'm glad Ruby instigated this time or not. If she hadn't William wouldn't have turned up at the party and he would not have been a suspect, which would have allowed for Julia to talk to him and not marry Darcy. But then she wouldn't have been able to go through William's desk and find the letter and then who knows what would have happened... aaah!
3. I'm telling ya, there's a reason Higgins is always giving George crap. "It's nonsense!" "Like your novel?" LOL
4. The look to the left Snacky noticed is interesting! I'd like to think it was about wanting of off Darcy- haha!
5. "You'll never know what it's cost me..." Oh my god. That line really kills me. I hate this episode so much, but I love it so much. I don't even have anything to say right now. I don't blame anyone who rage quit watching this show when it originally aired. I think I need to go watch the wedding episode now... or a happy fan video. Omg.

CC pointed it out to me, and someone else may have pointed it out to CC. A lot of sheer brilliance comes from CC. "You'll never know what it cost me"....Yes! That wrung the tears out of me the first time I saw it! Part of what hooked me on the show. Angst-o-rama! I love it when characters get stuck with impossible choices. You've inspired me to spend a few minutes cultivating Le Tumblr Thread.

Julia wouldn't have known about the proposal if Ruby hadn't found the letter and she wouldn't have found it if everything before hadn't happened. Whilst I didn't like the outcome of going to the party it served it's purpose. I love the way Ruby kept on at Julia over the episodes trying to make her see sense. I always thought it odd that he looked to the left. It never occurred to me that it was Darcy he'd liked to kill. Good catch whoever realized that!! "You'll never know what it's cost me..." that line kills me every time. Sob....

I do believe this was a deliberate piece of acting, though. YB has always played up his facial acting a lot, perhaps at the expense of other kinds of acting. It was a shock to realize, after remembering him as "Joey" from High Tide that this was the same guy chiefly because he had that sort of subtlety going on. One thing I worry about with the aging of the show is that it gets easy to get bored and "phone it in". The first thing to go are those little nuances. Since this is what makes people go: "Wait a minute, I'm giving this show a second look...", I hope there will never be any "phoning it in" on MM!

Funny you should comment on YB playing up the facial acting as I originally put in my comment that he never makes a facial expression without reason and then deleted it.

We've discussed that before- it's something we've both noticed and really admire about his acting.

It's this subtlety that critics that only ever watch one episode miss or mistake as wooden. It's the character that's wooden not the acting but you need to have seen several episodes to realize that.

This ep happens to be on tonight as I'm making dinner. I never noticed before that the croquet balls are the Murdoch equivalent of Tribbles (a la Star Trek).
