It's possible Hannikan, don't forget something big always happen in the last episode of a season..i continue to' think that the wedding of Darcy and Julia is in the last episode and William do something in the last scene..

Yeah, something big might happen in the finale. If we look at other season finales of the show, only S3 had a really dramatic ending regarding W & J. S2 had a subtle ending, showing that they were probably going to get back together after the detour regarding Julia's abortion caused them to grow apart for awhile. I think maybe William will finally get the chance to propose in the S4 finale. Then maybe we will see them marry at the beginning of S5. Ah, so much speculation!

I know it will be fun to see who (if any) of us is right about what will happen!
So I was thinking about how Julia is happy going back to pathology and leaving behind the children's hospital. I thought that was odd initially but now I wonder if wanting to work/working at the children's hospital was really an urge to be a mother instead of a children's doctor. She didn't necessarily realize that was it because she had not been interested in having children earlier in her life. Maybe she's decided that what she thought was a desire to work with children was really more about wanting to have children... Mmm... and maybe that is what was actually missing from her life (what H.G. Wells mentioned in S3).

Hee-hee, thanks. Clearly I think too much about these things. Building on those thoughts it might also explain her relationship with Darcy. Since it happened somewhat quickly maybe that's because, in the course of their working together he expressed an interest in adopting children (very possible as he's a children's doctor) maybe that brought them together. Esp since Julia didn't know/think William was open to that. If Darcy's seen some tragic stuff with abandoned and neglected children it's very possible he would feel strongly about housing such children. Of course, William has some personal experience with that from his own childhood (his mother dying) and seeing things as a police officer, too.

We could be, Ron. So I noticed something looking at imdb tonight. They have very few actors/characters listed for each S4 episode as of now (Dr. Francis and Higgins aren't even listed) but there is a minister listed in the season finale... So perhaps the wedding isn't scheduled until the finale... It could be coincidental and he could just be part of the murder case, too.

Really enjoyed last night's episode with the French Inspector, he too noticed the looks Murdoch was giving Julia.

Okay, now that I have been able to watch the first 3 episodes on YouTube (thanks Camilla!) I have so many thoughts my head's spinning. After the beginning of episode 1, and the way the writers kept going back to the ring and Julia's telegrams, I think it's safe to hope that Julia and William will wind up together. Otherwise, there would be no point in going on about it. Plus, Lamb's remark about waiting too long to respond to his fiance, and the whole premise there, tied in to it. The writers would have to be both sadistic and short-sighted to go through that without something to come.
In the third episode, I noted so many things - the scene in the closet, where Julia's head appears to be practically leaning on Murdoch's shoulder, the emotion between them, the fact that Darcy hasn't provided a ring! I can't imagine Darcy providing much of a counterpoint to the story, so I don't see him sticking with the story all season. (Even Enid was only there for 5 episodes!)
I did find it ironic that Higgins rather than Crabtree would say Murdoch was lovesick for Dr. Ogden, as Crabtree knows him far better. Of course, the conversation wouldn't have made much sense if the roles had been reversed, tho', so it had to be Higgins saying so.
I know some of you have said Darcy is a nice guy - he looked flimsy to me (didn't seem substantive at all) but that may have been just an initial reaction. Hopefully, nice or not, he and Julia break it off sooner rather than later. I enjoy the personal relationship between William and Julia.
Also - what's up with the change in the engagement ring William bought? It's both a different shape and color!?!

Also - what's up with the change in the engagement ring William bought? It's both a different shape and color!?! I noticed that, too. It was blue (and lovely) originally. Then it turned red. I thought maybe it was weird light in the flashbacks? I agree with you that Darcy will probably not stick around. I think he may for the duration of the season simply because it looks like that's when the wedding is scheduled (although it could be that Darcy and Julia's wedding is called off before that and it's William and Julia's wedding). He won't be in all the episodes in between though. Probably only a few. I'm curious what drew Julia and Darcy together and hope we find out. In ep 4 he'll seem more likable than in ep 3. Ultimately I think it will be much like Enid and William. I agree that Julia appeared to rest her head on William's shoulder.
