Yeah, I do think it makes sense sometimes though. As long as they can give us a good sense of what has happened off screen.

Maureen Jennings posted this on FB today: "Everything starts back tomorrow with prep on "the episode". Have seen casting and now the final edits on the script with the whole team." I think she means the episode she wrote. She has been in talks to write an episode for the show for the first time this coming season. Should be interesting to see what it's like!

really? i was under the impression that she had written several episodes but maybe her name just pops up as a writer on IMDB because she was the creator. anyways, i have a feeling that if this is her first episode to write it's going to be somewhat different from the usual episodes because the books have a different feel to them than the show.

Yeah, I was under that impression, too. But she says she's never written one. I think she's listed as creative consultant or something in the credits. And I think anytime a series is based on books the author of the books is listed as a writer, even if they're dead.

I'm on dial-up. What does he say about season 5? Y'know, the more I think about it, and I'm hoping this doesn't happen, because Murdoch was wacked out on mescaline, I'm beginning to wonder if the last episode is going to be part of his hallucination--sorta like how the writers like to tease us with Julia or Murdoch daydreaming. You think their kissing, marriage proposal, etc., is real, then it flashes back to them standing there thinking.

Yeah, I don't think so. The effects would have worn off by the time most of the episode takes place. He says that somebody (maybe more than 1) UK characters/actors will return. He says that there will be a 2 part cliffhanger (the finale?) and his wife mentioned that we'll see a darker side of Murdoch but also more emotion from him this season.

Several reports have said that it will be Anna who will be back in S5 for 2 episodes, the 2 part cliffhanger YB mentioned. It will be interesting to see how they bring her back after she's supposed to be hiding under a new name.

i'm guessing something or rather someone will force her out of hiding and she'll run to Murdoch for help. then they'll have a romantic fling but she'll be tragically killed when the bad guys finally catch up with her. that's what i think will happen anyways, though i don't want it to. but i can't think of a reason to bring her back yet again but to kill her off once and for all. also, i don't think this will be the finale, i think it'll be in the middle of the season.

Great speculation. I agree. The writers or producers seem pretty adamant about hooking these two up, even briefly. This'll be exciting to watch if it does happen.

thanks Nugget! also, i have a feeling it'll play out like the Bristol episode, except it's Anna being hunted down this time and they don't get interrupted during the make-out scene.

That's very possible but it did say she's in both episodes of a 2 episode cliffhanger. That suggests it's at the end of the season. I agree that if she comes out of hiding she could very easily die. Also if she makes contact with William his life would be in danger, too.

yeah but sometimes shows have mini cliffhangers mid season. this of course would be assuming they have something grander to top off the season with and assuming the cliffhanger is only at the end of the first episode, not the second part. but now that you mention it, i'm kinda wondering how they could top this. also i guess it's just that i'm so used to the finales involving Julia that it's hard to picture it all being about Anna. guess we'll find out eventually. how many more months do we have to wait?

Yeah, you're right, it's possible. It could involve both of them somehow. I'm impatient, too. Downton Abbey is tiding me over until then.
