The example that made me craziest was in "The Tesla Effect" when Julia finally revealed the reason for her leaving, he's in tears and he leaves in the middle of one of the most important conversations of his life!! Madness...AND Sally Pendrick got away to boot. Argh!! I'm not sure this is totally because Julia is the perfect partner who loves science and puzzles just as much as William. When she "rescheduled her day" to help William make dinosaur head models in Loch Ness Murdoch (for the "Julia" dinosaur, hahahaha), she had a really odd look on her face, didn't she? Not bored, but not enthusiastic either. More like she was monitoring the situation for something, perhaps a bit impatiently.

It was not one she has ever given him before. I think she enjoys working with him on work stuff and it was kind of a nerdy woman in love look.

I couldn't read that look at all, but it was speculative somehow. I guess it was more interesting than fawning all over William, which would have looked manipulative. Though I liked it better when Julia was having so much fun she took over the experiment in Beaton Manor (when she started putting make up on the mask William was wearing). Of course the best is when she's slicing and dealing out brain slices like a deck of cards!

Clearly I need to go back and watch that episode. No hardship...it's one of my favourites!

Beaton Manor? I'm not so sure? They are on the slide toward Julia's move. Julia is very wistful when they are storm-watching at the beginning.

Oops. I was still on Loch Ness Murdoch.
I did like her playfulness with mask in Beaton Manor.

That's what I liked so much about season 7. There was a playfulness, lighthearted teasing and just plain enjoying on another's company that wasn't even limited to the 'ships'.

I thought the episodes were well crafted and the production values were also high. They compare well with earlier seasons. That's why I have to raise an eyebrow when people come out hand-wringing on Twitter that MM is "going downhill" and might as well be cancelled on the spot. WTH? It's more or less at peak performance.

I think so too. Seasons 6 and 7 have steadily raised the bar in all aspects of plot and character.

I think so too. Seasons 6 and 7 have steadily raised the bar in all aspects of plot and character. And costumes. I don't think costumes should be underestimated. Costumes and music cover a myriad of plot sins.

Good point! A good costume department, especially for a period piece, is essential. Their worst blunder IMO was the wedding dress.

I agree about the wedding dress, it was awful and not at all appropriate to the period. Too white for one thing.
I hope they give more consideration to her dress this time around.
About a musical episode--I agree a full blown musical version would be completely over the top but George could pester W&J into going to the Music Hall that were by this time fairly respectable. Most of the songs were nothing but one double entendre after another, while some of the men's songs were more like ballads, but by no means not all. I would love to see Julia tease William with one of those songs.
