The woman was Gillies dressed as woman from what I understood. And yes that is how he knew W/J were still in love because he witnessed them himself. It was a brilliant episode. One I am more than proud to claim for the show. If only all of S5 had been this good, let's hope the last two episodes and S6 are this good.
It's impossible for the writers to backtrack on what was said in the episode in regards to W/J. Everyone acknowledged they're made for eachother. You can't have Julia staying married and William ending up with another woman after that. Then all Julia said about how she knew he'd find her, and Darcy is suspicious. It's all coming to ahead for a divorce/widowhood and W/J reuniting in the next series.

You can't have Julia staying married and William ending up with another woman after that. Then all Julia said about how she knew he'd find her, and Darcy is suspicious. It's all coming to ahead for a divorce/widowhood and W/J reuniting in the next series. I think W/J love for each other will be moving forward before the next series . Even Murdoch admitted he was desesperate looking for her and I think we know now that if Julia is in Murdoch night in Canada and the 20 th murdoch episode., its bound to go forward. I am hoping for some dream sequences in the last 2 between Julia and Murdoch. I doubt that they would be a real kiss as she is still married but some dream sequences now at that point won't be unreasonable. Great hugs will b sensationnal too. And yes, it was Gillis dressed as a woman, when Murdoch goes to see Gillis at the hotel and find him, the green dress and the red scarf is on the bed and the blond wig is on the bedside table. He probably knew a bit from Big murderer on campus when Julia turned at (the only woman) the ampitheatre, but I suppose, he was then sure when he actually went to station 4 and saw them talk to each other( I can't believe he just turned up at station 4 to b honest) then he just made an evil plan to hurt Murdoch big time. Plus, another clue, George did say that he spoke to her and she was rather unattractive. So I expect Gillis dressed up as a woman was not very pretty to look at. Also the pregnant woman did also say that she was unnatractive. It was Gillis and he changed his name to Gillian James to buy the dolls . Murdoch and George put the whole thing together pretty quickly after that. As Gillis escaped for a second time, I suppose we may see him again in season 6. It was a great story and I think , we know now that Julia is in danger too even more since stroll on the wild side part2 and I think this is gonna make them think. If there is no divorce between Julia and Darcy, I wonder how Julia and William can b that happy really even if they separate. I can't see the writers killing Darcy off somehow unless someone follows Julia one day and the murderer takes it on Dracy for revenge because he thought that because she was married to him, that she loves him. Not sure or Darcy may be mistaken for Murdoch if we see Julia and William together but someone saw her with Darcy too, thinking he is the same man. A case of mistaken identity perhaps!!!!

It was kind of fun to see the names of past characters like Sally Pendrick (Hubbard) on the chalkboard. I thought so too and Beaton from "The Curse of Beaton Manor"

yeah this was a great ep! i wasn't bored once the entire time! i actually thought sally was the blonde haired lady at the beginning but then quickly realized it didn't make sense. for once i guessed it right and knew the blond haired lady was actually a man! but i didn't know who it was until they showed the campus and then only cuz i had recently watched that ep. so the killer was by no means obvious and therefore the writing was quite superb! i almost wonder if there'll be a bit of a mutiny in the station house. Higgins seemed to really resent all the grunt work he made them do and george was a bit peeved too! and then immediately after that, he has them digging a grave while he's just watching them. if higgins has a journal, i think he'll have a mouth full to say after that day! xD gillies kind of reminded me of the Joker. he's fairly deranged and likes to play games with his prey. we'll definitely be seeing him again next season and i look forward to it! yes, the W/J scenes made me melt. it was so awesome to see them like that again! i agree it would be super lame if the writers try to backtrack once again. someone's gonna get an angry fan letter if that's the case! xD as for the darcy problem, i'm not really sure what they're going to do about it. if not divorce, then he has to die. but being murdered seems unlikely so i'm guessing he contracts a deadly illness. maybe from one of his patients? well, one things for sure, he has to go and it has to be soon! at least, i say so! oh and here's a completely random question for Lucy. How do you get your tumblr link to show up in every post? Can you just do it cuz you're the administrator or can us mere mortals also accomplish this feat?

Huh, I guess it could have been Gillies himself. He wouldn't have been female looking at all though. The widow of the prison guard and the stockboy of the dolls both said she wore a lot of rouge but still I can't imagine he would have looked like a woman. Her walk was a little strange though. And you're right about the name. Yeah, it wasn't Higgins digging with George. It was some random guy with a mustache. They could have anything happen to Darcy for him to die. It could be an accident or he could get a fatal illness. He could get caught in the crossfire of a shoot out or like in the past we've theorized, he could be a criminal. Anything is possible except for Julia to ask for a divorce or for them to divorce amicably/mutually agree on it because neither was legal yet. Darcy could also just run off and abandon the marriage but then they would still legally be married.

Darcy should just die from an illness or in an accident, much simpler for the show and all the characters. Julia can't feel any guilt if she played no hand in him dying. It will also allow William to not get into one of his saintly moods where he thinks he shouldn't be happy because he'd caused hurt to Darcy (if they divorce) or a criminal killed him, and he didn't stop it. No more of William playing the saint, we've had five series of that and it's time he went for what he wanted, and the show didn't give him anymore reasons to be the martyr.
I think we'll see Gillies again in S6. They've left the door right open for it. And Gillies did say he doesn't like to be bested, so for that to happen twice will have made him really angry.

Yeah, I think Gillies will be back, too. They'll be tracking him down from here on out. I hope Julia and William with both decide that there's no reason to feel guilt over the ending of Julia's marriage to Darcy, no matter how it happens. I think that Julia has completely decided that her marriage to Darcy was a mistake and William realizes that he should have told Julia how he felt both at the end of S3 and at any point in S4. I hope they agree to start over with a new slate, putting past regrets behind them. There will always be new challenges and I'm ready for something different for them to tackle. I noticed that Thomas said Julia wasn't at her clinic instead of practice. Does that mean she did start the birth control clinic after all? That subject was dropped very abruptly and never returned to. I hope they do return to it even if she becomes a psychiatrist/profiler. Dr. Roberts sure wasn't in this episode much. His part was important but small. I wonder what they'll get up to with him in the finale.

I don't think Julia is in Murdoch in Canada. She is in the finale and because it is the last episode it better be good (because after watching "Murdoch in Toyland" which was an amazing episode I know that the show can be back to its greatness) and then I will count the day for season 6
