The one thing that really surprises me about this episode is that William never once mentioned that technically, the new century wouldn't start until 1901. *grin* That bothers me, William should have known that. Well, in thinking about it, perhaps he went the way of other pedants on this subject *cough*me*cough*, attempted to correct people, and finally gave up. *grin*

That bothers me, William should have known that. Agreed - it just has to happen offscreen, in "head canon", and/or fic. But anyone who knows William knows this happened!

William has a standard fantasy: Julia, son, cheesy mustache. Teaching the son geeky science.
Riffing on what Monty said: Julia's hair is sort of "down" in the ballroom - not to mention the red dress and the boobage William keeps glancing at. She is the symbol for fully expressing passions vs. inhibitions (personal and social).
Btw, I noticed Dr. Harms (sp?) taught Einstein in Zurich. That's also where Jung was a student, and I think working at a mental hospital at the time. Hmmmm...

I just watched this again because I felt the need for lots of Jilliam!
Their scene at the end still thrills me.
I find that I really like the shows they do in the colder weather: their outfits are so smart, especially the men's overcoats. It didn't hurt to see them all dressed up for New Year's Eve either. I loved Julia's plaid outfit, and her hair was gorgeous, both up and down! And that red dress... much more sexy than anything else in the room. No let me correct that, just as sexy as the man she wore it for!

Wasn't really thrilled with the plot and really didn't like the 'future' family scene. I've since watched it several times and each time it's grown on me more. I love the scene where Julia asks William what he saw when he was hypnotised and especially the look on William's face as she walks away. I have to say I absolutely love that dress too and I'll always take a guy, especially a good looking one, in white tie and tails!

Oh yes the scene in the street where she tells him she would love to be part of the future imagined by William Murdoch. Those eyes as he watches her walk away! And then the devastating disappointment when he realizes he has been fooled. So I know that it was all a dream, but if William Murdoch Jr. is 8 in 1912, he has to be born in 1904. I wonder if William ever told Julia the details of his dream? That would be an interesting conversation.

I think she'd like that even more than she realizes. Yes, those eyes!

That slo-mo girl gang fashion walk was (sadly) one of the highlights of the season.

It probably isn't original to MM, but I love it anyway. To me that's the sort of thing that should be a hallmark of MM style.

Just another example of how well the audience knows the characters...often better than the writers do. We keep track of the character continuity better.

We know the "child" issue has to come up some how.

If Fr. Keegan is coming back next season as we've been led to believe maybe he brings up the subject at another dinner with W/J. I think that would be an interesting route to go.

If they ended up adopting, Fr. Keegan could end up as the one who knows of a child needing a home.......
