I am totally in love with the compartments that separate the bobbins of embroidery floss!! Deliciousness! What do you think you'll put in the secret compartments once you get them fixed?

Not sure yet. I'll be working on building things up this weekend. Gluing in the supports. Cutting out the false bottoms, and all that stuff.

The Restoration/Rebuild/restomod is underway: Pulling the box apart for cleaning. The support-pieces glued in. Once the glue dries, I'll be able to test this thing and see how well it works. Give it 24 hours to fully set and harden.

If I launch a Bat Signal, will you come to the rescue of my unfinished essay with all these writing gadgets?

What's the essay about? If I know anything, I just might.

How is your History Magazine job going? Is there a new issue coming out? Recent events make me very interested in political upheavals such as the anarchists!

Another antique whistle! "The EMCA City Whistle" MADE IN ENGLAND (Yay!) EMCA = ACME backwards. As in the ACME Whistle Co. As in Joseph Hudson & Co. Official manufacturers of whistles for the London Police Services! That's right. The company that made this whistle also made the police-whistles featured in "Murdoch Mysteries". And it sounds exactly the same!!

Yes.
The ACME Whistle Company. Previously called Joseph Hudson & Co. Established in the 1870s as a manufacturer of whistles.
They're still around today. And they still manufacture their same line of whistles. Including old-style police-whistles as used in MM.

I always thought that ACME was a generic cinematic invention that stood for "A Company Makes Everything".
