Spoilers, again
When a man is stabbed with a pitchfork in a hotel stable, Murdoch's investigation uncovers some strange inconsistencies. Felicity Dawes, a hysterical resident of the hotel, claims that Tobias Pinder was her husband. The nurse intercepts her and her lucidity is replaced by disorientation. Murdoch and Crabtree are led to Carl Rodriguez who had a gambling grudge with the victim.
I think the title is a play on the song 'Lovers in a Dangerous Time' known by the cover done by the Barenaked Ladies.

More likely it refers to Bruce Cockburn's original version. He's Canadian, too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovers_in_a_Dangerous_TimeHere are the lyrics: Don't the hours grow shorter as the days go by You never get to stop and open your eyes One day you're waiting for the sky to fall The next you're dazzled by the beauty of it all When you're lovers in a dangerous time Lovers in a dangerous time These fragile bodies of touch and taste This vibrant skin -- this hair like lace Spirits open to the thrust of grace Never a breath you can afford to waste When you're lovers in a dangerous time When you're lovers in a dangerous time Sometimes you're made to feel as if your love's a crime -- But nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight -- Got to kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight When you're lovers in a dangerous time Lovers in a dangerous time And we're lovers in a dangerous time Lovers in a dangerous time (Toronto September 1983) It looks like the song was partly the inspiration for this movie, too: www.imdb.com/title/tt1347170/

The title has intrigued me also. There has been too many "Murdoch in this" and Murdoch does that" kind of titles in the last couple of seasons. My first instinct was that it was going to be a Julia/William/Darcy triangle kind of story, but from the short description, I see that it is not. Still, I am looking forward to it.

I think it will be, Petunia, because in the preview William and Julia are arguing and she looks close to tears. Oh, and William punches Darcy because he calls Julia a whore. Says the one with a paramour! (she will show up in 6x12 too).

I like the "Murdoch" titles! I think they're way more fun than the ones without.

I agree, iheartmurdoch, I enjoy the Murdoch titles! As for making the episode better or worse, meh, I can't really see that.
Due to vacation I won't be able to see this one live! >.< Thank goodness for the CBC app.

Lauren - I didn't mean the title made the episode better, just that the title itself is more fun, IMO. Makes me smile.

He wouldn't stand for her being insulted. Darcy is getting nastier by the episode I won't shed tears over his fate.

Hello! I have really enjoyed that Detective MURDOCH, usally so stolid, loses his cool; it was very surprising -it made me laugh- and it especially shows that he deeply cares for Julia. MURDOCH knows that he and Julia are in a delicate situation and he really wants to find a way to put an end to this but he doesn't have much room for manoeuvre; he remained until then far behind in order to protect Julia's reputation. Moreover I suppose that this scene happens after the dispute between Julia and MURDOCH. That could be explained why he loses all self-control. When MURDOCH meets Doctor GARLAND, it seems to be an opportunity to try and do something. MURDOCH gently asks him to be reasonable and to let Julia go and when Darcy doesn't agree and even more so when he calls Julia a whore, MURDOCH is so much angry that without hesitation he punches him. I guess MURDOCH will regret it even though Darcy deserved it -we can understand that Darcy wants to avoid a scandal of the divorce and/or wants to punish both of them because he feels betrayed but he has no right to disrespect Julia- because anger is a sin and because he is a detective. Maybe after this altercation with Dr GARLAND, MURDOCH will reconsider the proposal of Julia to live together and to shock everyone. This could be funny.

^^I've never read the books but I think I remember hearing that Murdoch DOES live with his lover without being married and that they even have a child together! Not that I'm expecting this to happen in the show, I'm just pointing out that a version of Murdoch wasn't quite so uptight about things like that so it is within the realm of possibility. If I'm remembering correctly that is.

I really liked that episode because it kept me guessing who was the killer until Brackenreid's brilliant sentence: "Follow the money"!! I have to admit that this idea of star crossed lovers through time was a bit far fetched to me but I was not really bothered too much by it because the actors Sheila McCarthy & Antonio Cupo were brilliant in their roles so I was able to believe in that story. Joking a little was I the only one who felt like the temperature was rising every time Yannick & Antonio were in the interrogation room? I also loved the idea that Julia & Emily were doing their own investigation together as well as the talk about Parkinson & Alzheimer's diseases which resonate a lot with me as both my grandmothers were afflicted with Parkinson and both diseases unfortunately touch a lot of elderly these days. The talk about different faiths and beliefs between William being a Roman Catholic & Carlos believing in reincarnation was also very well done in my opinion and I interpreted it as people need to be tolerant between each other. Finally the fight(s) between William & Julia were very well done, realistic and I didn't feel that I had to take anyone side the arguments from both sides were valid; the fight on a professional basis because she would not break a patient confidentiality and he wanted her to tell him what Ms. Dawes said and their personal fight as I could feel both of their frustrations about the situation they are now. Finally Julia's last sentence of the episode is a strong indication of what's to come in the last 2 episodes (which I have my suspicion about as I'm sure a lot of people but because I don't read spoilers I have no idea what will really happen so I won't say anything more on this thread). I also loved Julia's outfit in this episode, it is definitely my favorite this season with the white dress that we saw in episodes #6 & #8.

This episode was great! One of the better ones in season six, probably better than last weeks. I have a feeling this episode will hit home for the rest of my family that hasn't seen it yet due to the dementia that Miss Dawes had; my grandma has the late stages of it. Loved seeing more of Julia at work this episode, including her and Emily working on the case together. Can anyone see Emily as a bridesmaid for Julia at her and William's wedding?
