I liked it. But then I pretty much like everything this season. I think Season 6 is better than Season 3 even I think it's better than S5 and about level with S4. I've liked all the episodes this series except last week's. I thought that was a boring dud and showed a lack of effort by the writers. This week's was a massive improvement, an episode that will be memorable to the viewers. It had all the ingredients that make MM a great show. All the characters were fully active in the case, that hasn't really happened so far this series. When you see Julia and Emily working more you realize how much you've missed that this series, the girls have been underused somewhat. Of course for Julia it's been better than last series when she was missing for half of it. I expect the next episode to probably be really good as well and it should allow all the characters a chance to do things.

For a functioning 1900s typewriter, you could buy an Underwood #5... Or an Underwood 1, 2, 3 or 4. They all came out starting in the 1890s-1900. Or they could get another Oliver like what Murdoch has...

Yeah, but how much do those cost? This show actually doesn't have a big budget. Esp. for a prop that we rarely see up close, it probably wouldn't be worth it. I agree that S6 is about on par with S4. But I have missed Julia. She hasn't been well-integrated into about half the episodes. She hasn't been totally gone, but she's only been in some eps very briefly. They haven't integrated Emily into the morgue as well as Julia was either. I feel like her character has been uneven. Sometimes I like her a lot and sometimes I'm not that interested in her.

I always like her but some episodes she isn't very interesting. She barely appears at times so it doesn't help us feeling she's fully part of the show. I wonder if it's because technically she's only a regular guest star and not proper cast. Maybe that is why she's been underused. Julia has been light in some episodes which is to be expected because they don't need a profiler for every case. So during those times she is there primarily as Williams love interest. That's why a big part of me misses her in the morgue. Though I like that she is at least in every episode this series, last series was frustrating because she was missing for half of it. So I'd take how she is now over how she was in S5. And when they do integrate her into the cases it works well. The last few episodes she has been integrated better on a regular basis. She should have a heavy presence for the rest of S6.

If they can afford the Imperial, they can definitely afford the Underwood. That's all I'm saying.

That look that Julia gave William and the way she said "William" when she realized something had happened between him and Darcy.. priceless. I think William is discovering that being married to Julia will not be a walk in the park!!!!

Honestly this was probably the best episode of the series. I seriously enjoyed that punch and the arguement between William and Julia. It needed to happen as there was much left unsaid between them.

The punch was excellent. And well-deserved. I daresay the argument would've been more enjoyable had it happened privately, but I think having it in front of the constables was part of it. They clearly don't care where it happens (that sounds SO bad taken out of context...), but it had to happen sooner or later. (that also sounds really bad...)

Miss Dawes lived in a (very luxurious) suite of rooms in a hotel. This might have given the writers the background idea that people could lived in hotels at the turn of the century when they later had to consider places for William and Julia to live.

I just rewatched this episode and I'd forgotten how much I love it. The whole thing is very romantic, and it basically confirms that William and Julia are soul mates. The W/J argument outside the station is a really well written and acted scene.
It's good how MM occassionally has fantasy episodes. This is definitely one of the best of those. I'd also forgotten how much I like S6; sans the Emily and George romance. The season is a big improvement on most of S5.

William and Julia look so stressed out while they are stepping around it, though...

I've been waiting to get to this episode 1. George wasn't very subtle, if that woman was being held against her will George went and made the nurse aware of her trying to tell someone! 2. Darcy is so wishy-washy. Tells William he'll fight for her, randomly tells her to go be with who she loves, then refuses to let her go, then is off with some other woman. MAKE UP YOUR MIND. 3. The punch makes this entire episode for me. I agree with Emily about it as well, I'm surprised William had it in him 4. I do love their fight. They seemed to have high tensions throughout this entire episode. 5. George definitely would have been more than a fruit fly in a past life

I loved the writing in this episode. They managed to parallel the lovers story (Tristan/Jane) to the strained point in the William/Julia relationship. They get through their own hardship (finally addressing the marriage on Julia's part and the delayed reaction on William's that have kept them apart so long) in this one, and find new strength to go through it all by seeing the connection between Ms Dawes and Mr Rodriguez. It was also refreshing to see a more active part for Julia, I was missing her.
