having seen the ending i think it was correct that she would blame herself and walk away to get over it season7 for me would be looking into the background of brackenreid maybe a visit from a brother plenty of yorkshire actors in england also the return of harry lets have william helping julia with her grief and showing the side of him that we want also a murder on a train maybe william and julia's honeymoon maybe sally pendrick could be on board the train also has i've mentioned before a child witnesses a murder and julia takes him in and doesn't want to let him go (sorry getting carried away)

I would prefer they hold off for children for William and Julia for another season. Married off by mid-season once they are over the fall out of her false accusation, I can see. They could then show them settling down to married life in the second half of the season. The move to CBC probably bought us a few extra seasons we would not have had, had the series stayed with City. So I think there will be ample time for the "married with children" angle in S8.
To Barbara: Durham County was very violent.. but Helene Joy did play a totally different kind of character in that series. She had quite the foul mouth and much less reserved then Julia. Well I will stop there in case you change your mind and decide to watch it.

Married off before the hellatus? Hell yes! That's exactly what I want! I also like the idea of them working a case involving a child (maybe even one they have to prove is innocent of killing a parent) and then adopt the kid afterwards because they grew very fond of them. This could happen at the very end of the season, setting up a new interesting dynamic for the 8th (and likely final) season. I'd say so, it was technically cancelled until CBC came along....

I'd also like to see the return of some characters James Pendrick and maybe his wife? I can't remember what happened with her, didn't she just disappear?
I'd like to see Arthur Conan Doyle again too.

His wife, Sally Pendrick, a.k.a. Sally Hubbard or whatever her real name was built Tesla's death ray and then got blown up....except that she didn't die somehow and is presumably still conning her way across North America. In other words, yeah, she just disappeared. Yes! Doyle can come back with Thomas's Hellhound of the Highlands story, a.k.a. The Hound of the Baskervilles which was published in 1902. That would be brilliant! They're really funny together!

James Pendrick is a wonderful character! I do hope they bring him back for an episode or two, but I hope they don't keep on using the same storyline, with Murdoch suspecting Pendrick's every move and then Pendrick losing all of his fortune and has to start all over again etc. Give the guy a break!
I've often wondered if Sally Pendrick will ever show up again, although she would be taking a rather big chance coming back to Toronto. But one never knows.
I had a chance to watch some of the old episodes again from the first few seasons, and really miss some of the charm those episodes had. I hope the writers will look at bringing back some of the earlier feel to season 7.

Even though I am a major Jilliam shipper, I totally ship Pendrick and Murdoch together! (if only in a bromance kind of way, I even kind of made a fan vid to this effect). xD I agree with Shangas and think that they would be the best of buds if only the writers would stop using the same tired storyline over and over again (again I made a fanfiction to this effect). I think this bothers me as much as the Gillies stuff. Oh well.
If Sally comes back into the storyline, I think the only feasible way at this point is as I mentioned before. If Jasper catches her scent and then calls in for reinforcements and Murdoch has to go to B.C. again or something. Cuz she is not stupid enough to return to Toronto unless one of her schemes forced her to go there again.
Agreed. The earlier seasons had a certain charm to them that has been lacking ever since S4.

Well I will stop there in case you change your mind and decide to watch it. Petunia, I actually went to Toronto last November to see Helene Joy in a very dark and mystery play "Speaking in Tongues" where she was playing 2 very different characters, in the first act a very docile and unhappy housewife way more dependent on her husband then "Julia" in the show; and in the second act she was a very manipulative woman really close to being a sociopath actually so I'm not surprised that her character in "Durham County" was totally different than Julia. But as I said the very dark, grim and violent content of this show not only psychological but physical as well is not something that I handle well so I will pass on this one even if I'm sure that it is a great show. To come back to Murdoch, indeed I think having James Pendrick back is an excellent idea, William & him could have a good friendship if only he wasn't so suspicious all the time. Also a season is not complete without the apparition of Terrence Myers, such a slimy character I love him. As for William & Julia I hope we will see them move ahead in their relationship. I understand that they both need to get over the trauma that Gillies put them through but no more angst it is time we finally see them happy in their relationship with not much (if none at all) obstacles along their way.

Agreed. The earlier seasons had a certain charm to them that has been lacking ever since S4. Could not agree more.... There are a few names in the credits I would like to see replaced by some names we used to see in S1 to S4. While I enjoyed S6, it is nowhere near as good as the first four seasons. S5... well, it was so bad, I do not even know where to start. I saw on other boards that the S5 two parter was quite popular. Obviously taste is very subjective because I thought it was a vehicle to please fans of the Anna character.

If you think about it though they can't really have him inventing something before they were meant to be invented by someone else. I have to agree though that they can't do that anymore

I am wondering if Season 7 will show the writers exploring William's doubts about Julia's innocence in Crime and Punishment. Even during the trial he said something like "if you are innocent it will give me time to prove it". I think he really only truly believed she was innocent when he saw James Gilles. Up to that point, he had doubts. Julia is not stupid. She saw it. What a earth shattering realization for her to see that the man she loves, and who professes to love her, did not truly believe in her when the chips were down.
After all during the fight in Lovers in Murderous times she did bring up the fact that William chose Eva Moon over her. Even now, knowing the whole story, she still holds some resentments. If she had issues over that, how can she overlook him believing her capable of murder?

I hope the writers actually won't take that road, as I feel it can create more problems than anything else.
In my opinion I guess William was confused because it took Julia a while to admit that she wasn't in Markham when all the evidences (and I'm not talking about the ones Gillies created) were pointing that she was never there in the first place.
Plus, the blaming game can go a long way between these 2: W: "Why you didn't tell me before about your abortion?"; J: "Why did you court Enid Jones?" W: "Why did you leave for Buffalo?"; J: "Why didn't you take the train to follow me?" W: Why did you marry Darcy?; J: Why didn't you stop me? (what we saw in "Lovers in murderous time") etc... etc...etc....
I feel that if the writers decide to explore that, it will open a can of worms. Just my opinion, but I just would like for them to move on to a happier place where all their past mistakes don't come back to haunt their relationship

I agree with Cosmic & Renaissance.
Please, please, please, I beg of you, PLEASE.
ENOUGH with the Murdoch-Pendrick rivalry or whatever you wanna call it. It's getting incredibly boring. And predictable.
For once I would like to see Pendrick well and truly succeed, and for Murdoch to make that happen. Or something along those lines. The same old same old same old: "What's that!? PENDRICK!? Oooh bad, bad, bad, bad..."
*Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn*
I wonder what's on Jerry Springer. Oooh, pole-dancing midgets...
You get the point.
Oh and Cosmic: Bromance? Seriously? No way. That word just makes me lose my lunch down the loo. Let's call it a friendship like everyone else does. Unless there's congress and kissing, it ain't nothin' more.

I hope to see more of Meyers and Jasper in S.7. When does it premier? Ugh, I hate waiting....

Who's Jasper?
Oh! Murdoch's half-brother. I agree. Jasper Linney-Murdoch should make an appearance. Or three. I think it would be fun.
"MURDOCH!" "Yes?" "Yes?" "You will be assisting Detective Murdoch...um...him!...with investigating the murder of shipping tycoon Jason Seabreeze...Get on it!"
