It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since I was posting a new discussion for season 6 and here's season 7!
You can use this thread to chat about theories and speculation about season 7

Hi Lucy, we've missed you. Glad you're back. What a series that was!! I loved the last two episodes, but it always baffles me why Murdoch doesn't tell Julia his true feelings. She obviously blames herself for Darcy's murder, but with his experience he should be telling her this is life, you have to get on with it. The next series they say wont be on screen until next year, that seems an awful long way off doesn't it? Ron xxx

Really? Not till next year? But I agree 100% with you Ron about Murdoch. Though they both are annoying sometimes. I'm sure after some time has passed he'll finally start to move forward with her again. I'm also sure that once I finish my re-watch of the series, I'll have some good ideas for S7 things they should do. So expect to hear back from me in about two weeks. JK, it'll be more like 5 days.

Next year for Alibi in the UK probably, CBC in Canada will surely start in September. I too agree with Ron "Dear William, please get out of this magnificent brain of yours and starts speaking your true feelings " 5 days for 6 seasons!!! You definitely are crazier than I thought you would be (and believe me the stake was already high )

I hope you're right.
Why, what a glowing compliment Barb! I do strive to be as insane as humanly possible at all times. It's my life goal really, my raison d'etre.

I really do hope we do not have to wait for a season 7 on CBC until January of 2014! I personally are hoping for a September/October Airing.

I also agree that S7 will start in the Fall, mostly because of the number of episodes. They would be rushing it to show 18 episodes from January onward. Having said that, I think CBC will stretch all 18 episodes over the whole year (late sep 201 to early april 2014), meaning that we will be treated to many reruns next year.
I am quite looking forward next season. The writers have planted several seeds for S7 and I am curious as to which one they will choose to cultivate. I do hope they go the post traumatic stress disorder route with Julia. I just finished re-watching Durham County in which Helene Joy plays a mother recovering from cancer. I think she would do excel with this type of storyline.
I also think the writers have exhausted the James Gilles stories. Season 7 should be the return of Sally Pendrick.

This post suggests season 7 in the fall. Sorry if the link doesn't work! I'm thinking that the first 9 will be in the fall, the next 9 in January. Agreed, lots of reruns ^
They kind of have used the same characters for the last couple of seasons..Gillies, Pendrick, ect... I'd love it if Ruby came back! Or Murdoch's siblings!

^^Yeah I'm hoping for 9 this year and 9 next too! I don't mind a month hellatus around X-mas cuz that's way better than having to wait till next year altogether to see any of it!
Uh, other than his half brother, he doesn't have any siblings, his sister died. But yeah, I would love to see Jasper again! Maybe he'll get on to Sally's trail and call Murdoch in for help taking her down once and for all? I'm not holding my breath about Ruby, the actress is never available anymore apparently. If by some miracle she was available I would love to see her come back and stir up some mischief with Gemily.

Having said that, I think CBC will stretch all 18 episodes over the whole year (late sep 201 to early april 2014), meaning that we will be treated to many reruns next year. I agree with that, plus don't forget the winter Olympics, that's 2 weeks more of hiatus. As Cosmic Cavalcade mentioned I tend to think it will be 9 in the fall with a break at Christmas and 9 in the New Year; I'm actually fine with this, way better than to wait 8 months or more to see what'll happen It's interesting Petunia what you said about the post traumatic stress, I'm sure Helene Joy would be astounding playing that for sure (I've never watched Durham County as it is way too violent even if I heard it was a fantastic show, but she didn't win the Gemini for nothing right ). However if the writers take that road I really hope they don't stretch it too much, maybe a couple of episodes of 3 max I have to admit that I'm tired of the angst. I understand that I had unreasonable expectations about the season 6 finale (I admit that I wanted a proposal) but I would have been satisfied with a little more than what we got; that parting in the street was just flat in my opinion so I hope that for season 7 we won't get the back and forth between William & Julia for too long and that they can move on in their relationships (professional & personal) to another level. I hope so too, enough is enough. Bringing James Gillies back would be overkilling a brilliant idea (perfect in "Murdoch in Toyland"; also well done in "The Murdoch Trap) but now that's it!!!!

What I would really like to see in Season Seven is Murdoch and Mr. James Pendrick becoming friends and actually working together on a case or two.
They're obviously both inteligent, scientific, modern, forward-thinking and innovative men. They have no need to constantly circle each other and they can obviously get along, and they would, if Murdoch would bury the hatchet and stop constantly thinking the worst of him.
