Are we not getting a web series this season?
I don't mind if we don't but it had become the norm in recent seasons.

"Making Murdoch" is the webseries for this year. That doesn't really count as a web series. That's just BTS stuff.

That's what it is this year though, the crew has already announced it as the web series for the year..

It's lazy. I'm not sure why they're bothering. I'm not interested in BTS videos.
I already know a lot of these historical details and I'm not overly fussed hearing the cast talk about episodes we already saw.

They're bothering because other people do enjoy Behind-the-Scenes glimpses. I, for one, find them interesting. Sure, I'd prefer digital fiction, but this is better than nothing, in my opinion.
Maybe there's no web-series due to the super-sized season this year? Five more episodes means at least three/four weeks extra of filming; perhaps the actors didn't feel they wanted to act in the web series on top of that.

Two more months of shooting, actually! But you're right. 18 episodes? I can live without a webseries, or a dis interesting one.

I would much prefer the behind the scenes stuff to a wed series. The only one I have really enjoyed so far has been the Murdoch Effect. The others left me a bit cold. My only hope is that the behind the scenes stuff is on the dvd and I am really hoping for a bloopers reel, and I would be in HEAVEN if they included some commentaries. I would love Yannick to do one on the episode he directs. I love extras if you hadn't worked that out. lol

Other fans don't enjoy those kind of things, I'm not alone in that. I have little interest in BTS videos and don't intend to watch them for the reasons I stated. I didn't necessarily need a web series either as I survived the first few seasons without any, but it's more interesting online content than what we are currently getting. Which feels cheap. I'm not the kind of viewer who is obviously concerned with the actors who play the characters or the people making the show. I just like the show itself.

I concede that you're not alone in your opinion, but neither am I. I just wanted to point out the reason they were bothering- that other people- people that aren't me- do enjoy the BTS glimpses. Not everyone has the same tastes. Those who want to watch them can, and those who are uninterested can ignore the video and carry on as usual. It's no skin off of anyone's nose. I don't believe it's cheap, per say, simply more low-key and different. If it's in exchange for five additional episodes, I'll gladly take it. Terrance Meyers is back, by the way!

I love the behind the scenes stuff, and it would be awesome to have some bloopers too. There were some with the first season and they were a scream!

Just reading this again today, and I couldn't agree more. The episode with Jasper was one of the best (there are lots of those in my books, but whatever). It would be great if he reappeared and they worked together again. Also it would be neat for him to meet Julia and see what happens. Maybe a little brotherly rivalry?

He did meet Julia, they quoted poetry over an autopsy and got Murdoch very jealous. But Jasper was aware how his brother felt and encouraged him to sort out the Dr Ogden issues he had. And they did..... up in a ballon. Loved that episode.

OopsI I really need to see that episode again. Nevertheless I think it would be great to see Jasper re-appear.

Speaking of people who should resurface ...I want Sir Arthur Conan Doyle back on the show. He is my favourite guest star !
