the flying machine was stolen on May 12th. So Julia came back in May. I suppose she was in Austria for 4 months. Julia and William spent a night at Queen's hotel in July. s6 was in 1900. Just my opinion.

who's to say its the president of the day it could be a future president franklin d roosevelt(1882/1945)william taft woodrow wilson benjamin harrison just before his death in 1901 i hope its a young franklin d has for the marconi issue the work he did was with the british electical engineer william preece(later sir) of the british post office who work along side him preece studied under michael faraday and marconi sailed aboard h.m.s philidelphia which sunk in the atlantic he wasn't on board i think sometimes us brits feel we don't matter now/ shaftsbury without the british networks help(alibi a small network on a large cable channel sky) maybe it wouldn't be has big a show has it is sorry for my little rant but make us feel apart of a show that we think is partly ours Yeah, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would love to see a teenage Franklin Roosevelt, too. That would be fun. I still think it's more likely to be Teddy Roosevelt though. Technically, MM is still a Canadian-British co-production with a requirement to have a quota of British actors each season. So I think the British element will always be important to it. But I understand being frustrated that it's not a bigger channel there. It doesn't air here (U.S.) really at all. Only in markets very close to the Canadian border. That makes me very frustrated. Barbara, I don't know what the date is. I think you're right that it's still 1900 at the end of S6. I think it is either late summer or fall. S7 will definitely pick up a few months later, so probably in early 1901.

Just my opinion. Thank you! You've already proven Barb wrong! If their 'affair' happened in July, then clearly the season couldn't have ended in the summer!

ok so it's not in the summer I give you that BUT it is still 1900 for crying out loud!!!! There's not 1 month gap between each episode, 1 season takes place in a time frame of around 5 to 6 months and then they have a break of the approximate same amount of time before a new season begin. In season 6 the Murdoch Air episode starts in May 1900 as faby said. Given that in the last episodes it is still sunny I would say season 6 ended around fall but the beginning of it like late september to beginning of Oct tops. But it is not the summer of 1901 as Cosmic Cavalcade has mentioned to me a few days ago and we've been arguing about it since then!!! That show will drive me insane one of these days if it's not the case already

I already mentioned earlier that I was probably wrong about it being the summertime!
Let's review the timelines according to FB:
S1 is from June 1895-some point after December 1895 (But I don't know how reliable these dates are since it said the Cabbagetown murders took place in June and in the show Murdoch said it was March 12th!) S2 is from May 1896-October 1896 (Again, I take issue with some of this, it says he invented the night vision goggles in the same month as the end of the season!) S3 is from April 1897-September 1897
Okay, I will concede that each season is less than a year of time. I think we can agree on October as being the end of S6 then. Are you happy now?

Yeah, I would say it's fall of 1900 at the end of S6. I also think it was fall at the end of S1, not Dec. There would have been snow by then. The leaves were just changing in the S1 finale, so I think it was early fall 1895. I think each season shows less than 12 months, but because there are always a few months off screen in btwn each season, each season covers a different year.
S1=1895 S2=1896 S3=1897 S4=1898 S5=1899 S6-1900 S7=1901

Hmm, I guess that is why I was getting confused and thinking that there was a month in between eps. Barb is never gonna let me live this down. FML.

LOL, it's not always clear how much time there's been btwn seasons. But since we've never seen snow until the end of S5, they have been basically skipping all of winter. So they have to have skipped a few months btwn seasons.

A few historical facts for a new century...
January 22, 1901.
QUEEN VICTORIA DIES. Aged 81. She had reigned longer than any British monarch up to that date.
Edward, Prince of Wales, ascends the throne. Coronation is the 9th of August, 1902. He is crowned Edward VII, R.I. ("Rex-Imperator" - 'King-Emperor').
Edward almost didn't live to see this event. Originally scheduled for 26th June, 1902, the coronation was postponed when it was discovered that the king was suffering from severe appendicitis. Although treatable, a surgical procedure at the time was still very risky. With help from the greatest surgeons and doctors in the land, the king was operated on with success. He recovered and was crowned king.
Edward was uncle to the King of Germany (Kaiser Wilhelm II) and the King of Russia (Tsar Nicholas II), thanks to the wheeling and dealing of his mother, the late queen.
These family connections did little to stop the First World War.
Edward was notorious for his love of women, drink, food and firearms. He kept a long line of mistresses, drank excessively, ate even moreso, and loved hunting. He was also a prolific cigar-smoker. Although he was highly popular, some people would call him 'King Tum-Tum' due to his weight.
The king was very fond of these newfangled 'motor-carriages', much to the dismay of the royal physician, who complained that he would catch a chill if he spent so much time rocketing around the kingdom in open-topped motor-cars without adequate clothing.

Well as a Canadian, I would like to see more Canadian historical figures in the show. Other than Wilfrid Laurier in Confederate Treasures in S3, all historical figures have been Americans or British: Conan Doyle, Houdini, Bell, Wright Brothers, Churchill, Tesla.
How about one of The Famous Five? Emily Murphy was part of Toronto Society at that time and already involved in women's rights. What a "natural" ally she could be for Julia.
How about an episode with a young McKenzie King being introduced to seances by Sarah Pensall? Now writers this is a good idea, feel free to use it and unlike PM Harper, I won't ask to be credited with it!!!!
Finally, I will speculate on the "big ship" and "Newfoundland" episode we heard about last week-end. My guess is that William and Julia are on a ship going somewhere for their honeymoon. I hope it's France. For the longest time, ratings were higher there than they were in Canada, so those fans deserve a bit of recognition. Filming an episode there might just be too expensive, but saying William and Julia are spending their honeymoon there would be something.

I understand that Petunia. I think they have mostly brought in British guest stars because they have to have a certain % or # of British actors given it's a Canada-UK co-production, even though it is about Canada and Canadians. That and Canada was still very connected to Britain at this time. It makes sense historically to have British figures involved. The American figures they've chosen are just so internationally famous that everyone knows them. Houdini was Hungarian, Bell was Scottish and Tesla was Serbian, though they all immigrated to North America at various ages. Bell's family actually moved to Ontario and lived in on a farm in Brantford, ON. He lived in Boston, MA and Hartford, CT for several years when he gained fame, but he died in Nova Scotia and lived in Canada for awhile. I'm still hoping there will be an episode on Nova Scotia (it would be nice if it was actually filmed there) involving L.M. Montgomery. She's such a famous Canadian internationally, she wouldn't only be known in Canada, too. And, of course, William could go back there to see his boyhood home.

Yannick also said yesterday in the Mystery Solved that Murdoch will get jealous of the amount of time George is spending with Emily. So looks like things will be developing for them. Also, the Newfoundland hint may have to do with the Marconi telegraph - ATM I can't remember the details but I know it was important. Anyone else been searching for big ships that sank in 1901? Oh god, THE GEMILY! Come on, Emily- Murdoch wants his BFFL back! In all seriousness, I cannot wait for s7. It sounds like the writers are finally sitting up and paying at least some attention to the fans' thoughts and opinions, and personally, I think s7 will be better than s6. Don't get me wrong, I loved s6, but some things in it frustrated me and there was not enough Julia for my liking, though there was 100 times more than s5.

Yeah I'd love to see Pensell again! She makes faces almost as ridiculous as Murdoch! King was known for being into the afterlife stuff? I didn't know that! But that's not saying much as I don't know much of anything about him other than his first name is William and no one really liked him, yet everyone voted for him and he stayed in power for a veeeery long time. OMG! I hope you are right about the big ship thing Petunia! That would be either an awesome way to end the show before the winter hiatus, or an awesome way to start it up again after a wedding in episode 9. And yeah, I'm still assuming it's gonna start in the fall.
