Hi Snacky. Thanks for reading my post and taking the time to reply. Didn’t quite expect that. I’m chuffed. I tried to reply you but I don't know what happened to my reply when my post came up as you can see above so I just did a standard reply.
Yes, the Theatre one got me too. I am with you there. However, I actually liked season 1 from the beginning, much more than season 2.
For me though, I would like to see more time dedicated to the mystery of the day. They still only have about 45 minutes per episode and in the last couple of seasons, I see the romance and personal affairs of the characters overshadowing the mystery solving aspect of the show. I do want to see more episodes like the Invention Convention, the electric car and the Wonderland one to name just a few. Like you, I hope they get back to producing solid mysteries and it will do some good to show continuity in later episodes of some life changing events with some of the guest characters. For instance, how the girl with the split personalities fared afterwards (Me, Myself and Murdoch).
As for a BIG season opener for season 8, perhaps they are planning on a 2 part episode about an event in the Canadian history of the time. They did talk about having a 2 part storyline in season 8 but I have no idea. Whatever it is, I am sure they will give it their best shot as they always do to make it worthwhile.

Personal relationships and human observations have always been integrated into the episodes: I think they just get obnoxious when we don't agree with the ship that's being floated. Some people don't like Julia at all and can't stand Jilliam scenes. Other people don't like Emily/George. There might be some that find Constable side play lame. Others might hate Mrs. Brackenreid. I don't think any of them are being given screen time at the expense of the mysteries, though. IMHO. (Just thank God that The Proposal can only happen once!). By the way, was there some big event in Canadian history in 1902? I have another thread where I try to come up with historical events that MM might be able to touch on. If you can think of something, please add on!

I don’t even remember what I did yesterday let alone what someone else did somewhere else when I wasn’t even around. I am that bad. So you asking for my input in this one is a challenge. However, the good thing is I love challenges and I never shy away from them. So off I went and I made an effort. I found the thread you talked about and have put my thoughts there.

Whooo! So our Wild West wishes are coming true and I've just seen on Twitter that Patrick McKenna, the intrepid Hamish Slorak, is back filming for a couple of weeks. Prediction...Slorak does some amusing detecting with Bessie and Betty while William is Acting Inspector.

As well as some methodological head-butting. Slorak and William didn't cross paths directly last time. I can't imagine them being able to stay in the same room for 5 minutes, much less drink from the same pot of tea. I ship Violet and Bessie!

Ok but Bessie needs to have a bath. Violet has her standards after all.
Slorak's methods will drive William crazy and George is going to be the lucky duck who's caught in the middle. I can't wait!

You're right. Since Slorak won't be needing the blackboard in Wm's office, it can be moved into the Inspector's office so William can have two boards going. Was the Inspector's new blackboard as big as William's?
