Nope. Not in my wheelhouse. That's a wild and crazy sci fi movie! You should rent it to watch with your eeeeeevil child!

She's probably seen it...she lives with my cousin who has every movie EVER made. I have never even looked at fansites for other shows. I didn't have my own computer until 3 years ago so I was sharing with too many other people to consider it (if I'd even known such a thing existed). Thank heavens I have my own space to follow my own preoccupation with MM. I've been watching this series since the beginning and I've only become involved with a fansite since April...and look at me now ! Make no mistake, I like well-done sci-fi but I'm not a fan of black humour or way out there sci-fi.

She's handy with learning new things when she gets online at the library, though. Baby steps! The Fifth Element is full of humor of all stripes: that scene is particularly over-the-top. I just posted it here because the cliche Japanese fangirls are in the background. It's funny to think that Japanese fangirls were a cliche even back in 1997, and yet the meme just spread.

Now I feel really old. I'm guessing that I'm not old enough to be your mother but I'm too old to be your sister.
Did you see that one season show "Touch"? There were 2 Japanese fangirls in that show who were surprisingly integral to the success of the initial premise.

The only American-made TV show I'm watching semi-regularly is Person of Interest. (Perhaps it's the "grid" thing). It hasn't quiiiiiiite hooked me yet. I'm not sure why. A lot of elements I like are there, even the slightly surrealistic feel that's hard to describe. Though I'd hate to cliche it up, maybe it needs a little more romance.

I also watch Person of Interest but I've lost my enthusiasm (surprise) with the whole conspiracy surrounding 'the machine'. I feel the show started wandering after Carter was killed. Root is an eerily cool character. I like the show up until the last season. That game is just going to lead to trouble.... If mrsbrisby is the oldest (but not for sure), and I'm older than snacky, and I am georgeisclairvoyant's mother, and hetalia's canada is younger than her....where do CosmicCavalcade, eus, carco and tokyobelle fit in?? Tokyobelle just submitted her grad thesis so she's older than georgeisclairvoyant. We don't want to scare eclair away before he's really joined in!!

Murdochic - no idea: just know that murdochic believes firmly that William is not a virgin! I have trouble getting a read on CosmicCavalcade but I will guess same age-ish as me, possibly slightly younger. Tokyobelle is definitely younger than me. The contest might be between georgeisclairvoyant and hetalia...? lol, don't worry about eclair. He's very busy and his time zone is not the same as ours. He is only on the first season, though, so I'm not sure when he'll feel ready to comment.

I am certain that Hetalia is 4-5 years younger than georgisclairvoyant.
Based on what eus has said about Ontario politics re education, I would agree that she is younger than me for sure, but in the same snack-bracket as you and CC (probably a 5-7 year gap). Carco is a wild card but I'll get the inside scoop if she joins me on my Great Location Adventure!

Eus checking in here. Hint about my age: I have a 28 year old son and a 21 year old daughter. My husband is retired. I have never owned my own computer, but that is going to change soon because I don't want to share anymore. I think it is cool that many ages are represented on this forum.

Ha...that puts you in my age group. My kids are 22 (boy) and 21 (girl). I was late-ish having kids. Both my husband and I are retired (but young for that). I too think it's great that this show attracts people of all ages who want to join in the discussions!

Yup sounds right. I can't retire until the kid is through university or we win the lottery (snort!). I just finished going through the thread with all the Tumblr stuff on it. It made my head spin! I laughed so much. That's why I am still up so late! I need to retire so I can have more time in my day for this fun!
