Well you did go to grad school didn't you?
It's also not a good thing to have NO presence 'on the grid' per se. There are so many women who are completely pooched because they have no personal credit history since their single days. Even one credit card that you use to pay a single monthly bill, on time, in full, is a HUGE deal with your credit history and better than no credit history, or a lapsed one.

I have a credit card attached to my bank account, and I use it to pay one monthly bill. I just never let any balance carry on it. So I guess I am on the grid. I just have many fantasies about being off the grid.

Well then I suggest you erect a YURT somewhere in the foothills if you really want to be off the grid. The only downside is your internet reception would suck so you'd be out of a job...and you wouldn't reach the 2000 post mark on this site...and you'd only have Smokey the Bear and Sasquatch for company .

Hi! Just thought I'd jump in here. I got the notification on twitter about he open house but I had no idea it would fill up so fast. My heart breaks for you lovemondays. The thing about younger people is they are always glued to their mobile device so they can reply to any and all new messages. I cannot figure out FB, and twitter is a challenge, but the number of people I follow is quite small. I prefer old fashioned email probably because it offers some illusion of privacy and there are some things I don't want to discuss on boards.
Do you like my new avatar?

Look at you mrsbrisby . I feel like a proud mama even though you did it all on your own! I am SO frustrated that I missed out. My only (slim) hope is that MM said they may open up new slots. I take that to mean that anyone who is wait-listed will be the first to be contacted if they do another event like this.

Lol! Snacky created the cover for the tittilation of those of us who like historical romance, bodice ripping and general hero abducts and wins heart of heroine scenarios.
