On my way to Station House #4, I found where Inspector Brackenreid gets his shoes shined and the atomaton. This atomaton really is huge. The legs alone are about 6 feet off the ground. This is George's desk.

We really don't know how much we get from the little they have. Amazing! This is something I really appreciate about MM, and it makes me realize that the people who make the show must love it themselves and regard their work as craftsmanship. (unlike the cynical American about TV being "toilet paper" after it's aired, which leads actors to "phone it in" a lot). Also, I'm acutely aware of the fantastic budget difference between American TV shows (especially successful ones) and Canadian ones. Here is MM turning out great show, episode after episode, season after season, despite continued threats of cancellation, station-switches, budget cuts...what a great devotion to MM the cast, crew, writers, and production team must have! That's why it makes me want to kick someone in the shins everyone someone pulls a high-handed "I'm going to leave and take my posse with me if the writers so such-and-such". Geez - it's obvious serious love has been put into this show already: just stand back and appreciate what comes of it. Way to go, Canada!

Thanks for sharing! When you say Mrs. B you mean Arwen Humphries don't you? All I would like to say to the cast and crew is a big thanks for putting this great series together. Yes, I mean Arwen. She signed her autograph too as Mrs. B (haha). Same here. I appreciate more now what they do for our entertainment. Hope they have many more seasons. Have you been able to get more info from other fans who went? Did you want to know anything in particular?

Edit: I just did another search and now the husbands interview is up. YT won't let me copy and paste the url for some reason and I don't feel like actually watching it but I assume it will be a night and day scenario with his wife. Wow, he seems like such a nice guy! I wonder what that "certain episode" was that he lured his wife in with. I noted that he mentioned a Murdoch Mysteries Appreciation Society. Upon Googling, that seems to be the FB group. Someone should put that in the Resources section in case anyone does partake. (Je refuse). I shall try a sneaky lame trick for posting the interview. Can I claim this guy as a more representative American?

The "Canadian Embassy"? Does that portend an episode? Perhaps to go with the episode we already know takes place in Washington...a la Helene's twitter pic "Julia for President". Referring back to a comment of CC's, I hope this ep involves six-shooters...on Julia!

If you guys got FB accounts you could probably view people's comprehensive set photos. Or if you wait longer I'm sure CBC will eventually post some pics. Are you checking FB? If you see some good ones, could you ferry a few over here? Or if you post to your Tumblr, I'll do the ferrying from there.

Thanks for your candidness snacky. I hope MM does the Open House event a few more times for more fans to visit just to see their humble origins. It was an eye opener for me. However, I am a bit worried about wear and tear/damage to their materials/props over time. They left everything out there for us to see and touch. When I visited the morgue and the station house, there were case files prepared and signed by Dr. Ogden and Detective William Murdoch. Everything so detailed with photos, verdicts and all. Most interesting how much care and effort they put in. I tried looking for Gillies’ file, of course but didn’t find it. I took some shots to bring back but like I said earlier, too embarrassed to show them anywhere. This is the best one of the lot and it hurts the eyes.

That's another thing that's wonderful about MM. They have such an amazing attention to detail, and it's not just about CGI special effects. It's all the little odds and ends that are found lying around the Station House 4. I suspect there are some creative types there with minds of video game designers but who still have the physical energy to make stuff in the real world: hence in a way you got a real life video game walk-through complete with "items".

Unfortunately no one got a ride in the automaton. That thing is huge close up. You need a ladder, if not a mini crane to put a kid up there. The photo doesn't do it any justice. And the MM guide didn't have the stomach for it either. He much preferred something he had better control of (haha). But he did ride around for us on the automated bike. I had thought William will transition from the manual pedal to the power pedal bike but that doesn't seem to be the direction they are going. The halloween parties will be out of this world for those kids. You should have seen them in the morgue getting excited over the bloody brains and intestines on display (including Mr. Linus Malin's severed arm that doubled up as Duncan Burnside's). They were asking a lot of questions.

Ziggy already posted a good link but like I said you need an account to view it. I made a dummy one awhile back just for the express purposes of stalking the MM page. I'll look through it again and post a few of the better pics. They seemed to get blurrier over time. Edit: Unfortunately nothing seems to happen when I post the pics in here. :/

They have more of the indoor photos in their collection that refer to this issue. The link is pasted on MM facebook already and I am sure other fans will eventually begin to put theirs up too.

I hope I give the MM Powers That Be an idea about the Halloween Party. I got the chance to go to an Industrial Light and Magic Halloween party when I was in grad school and it was one of the highlights of my life. The creativity that the people at ILM put into their costumes was beyond imagining. The person who won the contest was wearing a WORKING model of Ripley's load-lifter from Alien 2.

I wonder why the pics don't post. Strange filetype?
