As per IMDb and directed by Yannick Bisson Isn't this the 2-parter? So if the wedding-esque episode is 4, would this one be 2 and 3?

Do you think this is the one that deals with William's past?
You our know, where it delves into his past of drinking, boxing, ranch handing, whoring, and logging?

We're also looking for the reason he decided to go into law enforcement! and the scene that proves he's not a 40 year old virgin

This is episode 3. I think someone is reminiscing about the good old days. If this is the episode that brought the tears to Emily’s eyes, I worry for the Inspector. Episode 4 is the 100th episode and I think they are going to make that really special. They have talked about “The making of Murdoch”, starting with William as a 9 year old kid and I am fairly certain that it will be about Murdoch’s life before the point where we began to see him in the show. I don’t think it will have anything to do with his wedding or his present life and I think the kid in the Time Machine episode might play the 9 year old William. I hear he is a hot shot.

Ooh then why the multiple wedding sequences, whether they are dreams are not? I would think "Glory Days" would be about "the making of Murdoch". Even if episode 100 was about the making of Murdoch and had a fantasy of the future, I don't see why more than one wedding sequence would be involved. Ps. Georgina was teary eyed over Murdoch Takes Manhattan, and IMHO that one is going to be about the huge train wreck there.

Georgina was teary eyed over Murdoch Takes Manhattan, and IMHO that one is going to be about the huge train wreck there. On the contrary. I see multiple wedding scenarios especially when you consider the list of possible reasons for the wedding to go wrong. It’s not only William that will have dreams but Julia too. They won’t play the same clips for both their dreams. They both will naturally get nervous about the imminent wedding for different reasons and there will be other clips other than a wedding scene. We haven’t seen the last of Leslie Garland yet. I don’t think any of those wedding footage is actually a wedding. The season is a long one and the dream sequence will be spread out, perhaps one clip per episode through 6-8 episodes. Unlike you, I don’t see a Jilliam wedding anytime soon unless they are certain this is their last season or the penultimate. It took them so many years just to get to an engagement and even that seemed under duress. Getting married 5 minutes later is not their usual way of doing things. You’re right, I think the Manhattan one is about a train crash but the crash may have happened on the Canadian side of the border though the train may have been coming from New York and maybe someone important was on board.

I just had a sad thought. If this is a "memory" episode. And if the weddings in episode 4 could ALL be held to be "dream sequences"...then perhaps William - perhaps both William and Julia - were ON the ill-fated Manhattan train. Episodes 3 and 4 are memory/dream episodes because of being trapped in the train wreck. Then episode 5 could be devoted to the trial of the engineer, with William having to testify, unwillingly, on the engineer's behalf.

GENTLEMAN WHERE ARE YOUR GUNS? NORTH OF THE BORDER WE RELY ON OUR WITS!!! If I make another t-shirt, that is so going to be the motto!!!! I wonder if this line demonstrates the shift to "jungle warfare" that seems to be a theme for this season (or at least I hope it is!). CC wrote in her newest fic a realization that William can no longer rely upon respect for the law and that he'd have to start packing, and it really resounded with me-the times are changing, and William is going to have to adapt, so at some point, things changed even north of the border (even though I love the line-golden!). Because if you watch the Murdoch Effect, George's BFF is his gun, and in the Republic of Doyle crossover episode I just watched with Bill Murdoch, William's descendant had no problems flashing his gun and shooting his lover. Just a random thought though-I have no idea to what degree Canadian law enforcement is armed-but it does make for a fascinating topic.

Talbotrail and others thought that on the Waterfront was also referring to recent incidents of police violence in Canadian history. If I remember correctly, they were talking about the police response to the G-20 protests...? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_G-20_Toronto_summit_protestsSo I guess you're right - Canadians don't rely so much on their wits anymore. I had hoped they were showing up the U.S. on that. So much for the t-shirt.
