So it seems this episode is probably not about William's past. I just read Maureen Jennings novel "Shipwreck"about a case William solves as a boy in Nova Scotia. It was mentioned at Fan Fest. For those of you who find Maureen's other books too dark, this is for you. It is very short, only 78 pages long, and I think it is really aimed at young adults. Has anyone else read it ? Christina Jennings implied there would be an episode based on it. If not this, then which one, I wonder. Where did you get Shipwreck? It seems to be very hard to get unless you have a kindle. I've been looking because I really want to read it.

According to his daughter, he is also a ski guy, which scares the frak out of me. Murdoch Mysteries could be abruptly ended by some terrible accident. No one who skis ever thinks it's going to end badly, but unpredictable things happen. Some guy just got the kabosh from trying to film his own exploits with a GoPro cam. Mountain biking can be pretty hairy too. I think he's a bit of an adrenalin junky. He said something about taking vitamins when he has to memorize scripts. I think he does everything he can to maintain high levels of energy and focus because that's what it takes to memorize a lot of lines each night. And plus it keeps him looking good for his lady fans!

I don't drive, so I don't understand whether this is politics or personal taste. Is it about the gas guzzling or is it some kind of military vehicle? It's a military vehicle. Why would the Ontario Provincial Police need a vehicle such as this? Are they going to use it to break down the door if someone's holding hostages? I really question what the use of this vehicle is except to bully the people of Ontario. On that note the new motto of the police should be changed from Serve and Protect to Bully and Control. My own personal motto for the police is "To harass and collect!"

Yannick might have been being sarcastic. But it's hard to get a grip on his political views. He's been in a lot of downright conservative shows, which had, frankly, always made me assume he had to be a dick in person. But from other casual remarks I've seen from him (one of the reasons I like to stalk his Twitter feed), he seems quite thoughtful and about doing the right thing for people. Part of the our problem in America is that many people want to equate liberal with kind, and conservative with cruel. It's just not true, and people are a helluva lot more complicated than that. As a libertarian, I tend to be fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. Which does not fit into either the liberal or conservative framework. People are complex and so are their belief systems-which make it impossible to file people into neat categories of either red or blue. You can get pinks, roses, violets, and even some purples.

My own personal motto for the police is "To harass and collect!" Whatever their motto is they no longer serve and protect. They seem to think their job is to keep everyone in order whether they're out of order or not. In a time when crime is diminishing, at least here anyway, police forces are pushing for more and more officers and power.

The good news is this episode might be enough to veer William away from "jungle justice". Can't wait to see William ride up on a black horse! and sweep Julia up on it. I don't think William was every going full on towards jungle justice. I see it more as William developing a sense that there are gray areas the blind justice sometimes fails to appreciate or take into account. Yes, this is what constitutes jungle justice to me. William always believed that the law was right and that his badge and wits would be enough to protect him. I think he's starting to believe that the law is not always just, and sometimes justice is best served by turning a blind eye. I think Brax already has, and William will soon start to realize that his badge and wits won't always be enough to help him do his job.

Our political system also makes it difficult for people to define their own way. Especially now that both parties are basically the same.

That's the perfect way of putting it. William is starting to think about justice as something apart from and more important than the law. It's sad that his badge and his wits aren't enough, but I look forward to Action!William on a black horse making up for the lack!

Looks like William and Julia will be having bachelor/ette parties this ep! William's will no doubt be lame but Julia's could be pretty epic! Especially if Leslie shows up and they stick an axe in him.

The girls have already done a bachelorette party with axes. Perhaps a well place hat pin? They have the skill... I think tonight's ep is going to be a rollicking good time all around. Can't wait .

Lol, that's why I said that. Booze bottles are also quite handy for smashing skulls. Or Julia's got her bow and arrow... I think it'll be similar to the NFLD ep, especially if George feeds Murdo the screech. So did you manage to get your tickets to the big shin dig?

We've got a party with Eus, myself, my hubby and Georgeisclairvoyant (my daughter). We're already planning costumes. Best costumes gets pics taken with Yannick and Helene.

There will be CIGARS! Hey maybe William is unhappy because the bachlorette party had to be broken up by the police!
