Yeah, based on what William said in Unfinished Business, about wanting to work together more, I'm thinking he'll attempt to get Julia an actual legit spot on the detective force as a profiler once they're married. I dunno about her dropping her practice though... She could contract with the Pinkertons instead. The Toronto police force in turn contracted with the Pinkertons on cases.

OMG her hair!! I thought this has to be a nightmare, surely Julia would not want to be seen dead with that hairstyle. lol - Julia's wedding fashions become the nightmare. I don't think Shaftesbury saw that one coming!

I laughed out loud and WOO HOOed! Go get-em tiger. Now if he would just do that with Julia....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I just has a William-esque vision of that! Julia lying on the bed in a come-hither pose. Maybe with a come-hither gesture. William doing the "manning up" tie move before his approach... SUPER SEXY!!!! I wonder if someone has been reading this board and put that in just for us tie fetishers....

Well, we don't know that he isn't gay! You can always cling to that. The priest def reminds me of a pastoral care priest or at the least a reformer. Whatever-it's been dealt with, and we can move on now. The last thing I want is an entire ep devoted to doctrinal theory. I wouldn't want an ep devoted to doctrinal theory - I just want to know what changed Julia's mind. And perhaps what book the priest recommended. (I'm not sure it was the Bible). I'm now wondering if there was an equivalent of the 60s radical stuff in the Church going on at the turn of the century. It would be a hoot if the priest was gay and carrying a torch for William all this time, but Bambi!William is completely unaware. The priest being celibate and a good priest, isn't actually making any moves on those impulses. But he's always happy to see William in confession! I would like to see an ep where this priest gets in trouble for blowing off the Church Hierarchy.

Agreed about the venue-but I'm suspecting that Julia couldn't get William to discuss or commit on a venue (such as talking to his priest) so she had to take it upon herself to select the venue and therefore an ASAP date. You know, because honeymoon, and tie removal. Would William even think about talking to his priest? He assumed the wedding wasn't going to take place in his church there would be no reason to see the priest. He was genuinely surprised that Julia had made that sacrifice for him, he'd assumed that, once again, he'd be the one making sacrifices. Perhaps not-but she was trying to bring up the topic and was getting blown off. But I agree that he wasn't even considering that. Love the Julia/priest angle.

she came at the priest as if she felt religious belief might be psychologically harming William. I totally disagree with that. \ He also knows how deeply William loves Julia so he found a way to allow a valued member of his flock to have his faith and his love. From the priest's POV it was probably reassuring to see Julia wanting to embrace that part of William. When Julia went into the church she only had the most superficial understanding of Catholic faith. When she looked at the windows, she began to get a bad vibe. That's when she came at the priest with her fears and suspicions. The priest was extremely reasonable the whole time. You raise a good point that he might have been most concerned that she would take William away from the Church, and he wanted to alleviate that concern by making sure she appreciated his faith and wouldn't try to convert him to another religion or nag him into atheism. I agree the priest was extremely reassured by the fact Julia wanted to understand William's beliefs rather than tear them down.

It's about time Julia did something for William, he's always compromising for her. It was a bit late but a biggie in my mind. I don't think she thought religious belief is psychologically harming William, just that god is allowing people to suffer when 'he' has the power to prevent all suffering and cruelty. The look on William's face was so priceless. He's used to being constantly pulled forward by Julia. Now she's acknowledging the importance of tradition for him. He's speechless! He's probably full of love for Julia at the minute. He probably wants to take her in the confession box. Why not? It's been the location of so many lurid confessions!

I'm still cracking up at nervousasavirgininawhorehouse!William and Brax laughing at him. Right now, that's my fave scene from the show! I reserve the right to change my mind, however. I bet there was tea and crumpets on that table!

Wasn't there something said this past summer about multiple wedding scenarios? I'm guessing a few nightmare scenarios before the big day actually happens. That's why I'm hoping that's William's nightmare of what could go wrong, and the real dress (which they shouldn't spoil, IMO) is still yet to be seen. Also, her hair. Please do something about her hair. Well I suppose I could fantasize that Julia's dress is part of the nightmare scenarios, but I doubt the dress will be at issue... For William? No. For us? Yes. Maybe the sound we hear is the fashion police.

I think at the very minimum, she's dropping hints that he's obtuse to. They probably spend the rest of their time geeking out over some scholarly article or book. George was trying to nail down a date for the Victorian lap dance bachelor party. I thought it was sweet-you perv! I think quickie wedding is how you get a honeymoon in NYC. It's not that far. William's obtuseness might explain that snort/laugh during the garden walk. Maybe Julia is getting a tad frustrated with his response to all her hints... George is an awesome wingman. And George continues to be THE MAN. Meme it. Maybe Elvis went back in time so William and Julia could have an Elvis Chapel wedding in Vegas. *Emily is a suspected Time Lord.

Well they've already shown what they talk about on dates. Work related stuff. When the conversation seems to be taking a turn to things he doesn't want to discuss, he probably pulls out a fascinating old case out of his magic hat and distracts her. "Oh, a puzzle! How fascinating!" Since she left the morgue, Julia almost seems trained to talk to William by getting into his "puzzle compartment". Now that she's out of the morgue, there's no chance for snarky chitchat anymore.

I've decided not to get my squee on that the real wedding will absolutely take place in the next ep until I see it actually happen. I'll channel that and dress for that but I'm definitely going to wait and see. Once it happens tho, I'm a gonner !!! Oh whew! I would hate to think of William having to run away from his real wedding hahaha. I'm sure the real wedding will happen - don't worry! CBC would not send out the invites if it wasn't going to happen. I have a feeling the dress/hair won't change though.

as a priest cares about this obviously unconventional, out of step man. Perhaps William spoke to him when Julia left and then got married, he did say that "William was at peace in a way he'd never known him to be" and he's only been happy since he had Julia back. He did seem to give her a 'little black book' I was wondering if I'd misinterpreted that or if it was meant for her to read. Gay or not, that priest super-cares about William. More and more clues about why William has found such a home in Toronto and wouldn't want to leave. He does have "family" all around him. I'm very curious about that book. I don't think it was a Bible.
