Wasn't there something said this past summer about multiple wedding scenarios? I'm guessing a few nightmare scenarios before the big day actually happens. That's why I'm hoping that's William's nightmare of what could go wrong, and the real dress (which they shouldn't spoil, IMO) is still yet to be seen. Also, her hair. Please do something about her hair. If you look at the background it doesn't appear to be the altar in the same church so I'm going with DEFINITELY a nightmare scenario. The dress and her hair alone make it one. I've decided not to get my squee on that the real wedding will absolutely take place in the next ep until I see it actually happen. I'll channel that and dress for that but I'm definitely going to wait and see. Once it happens tho, I'm a gonner !!! Smart but do you really think they'd house hundreds of fans in one place with the actors and crew and NOT expect them to go ape shit if it doesn't happen? Actually, it could be worse for everyone if it DOES. But uh, there's a panel afterwards too...so I'm pretty sure it's for discussing The Murdoch's honeymoon in great detail.

My logical side agrees that they wouldn't create a hostile scenario, but my skeptical side has been waiting for 8 years already, so what's a few more eps? They are going to be very cagey during the panel discussion but I can't wait!

I do know she has said some pretty harsh things to him about his faith knowing full well he was a very devout man. I think in the past Julia has referred to William's faith without really examining what that meant. In this episode she got around to realizing that this might be an important element of his psyche (as well as an issue of wedding venue) so she took the time to try to understand William's beliefs. Very interesting relationship moment. Challenging for fandom, though - who among us knows the least bit about Catholicism -- 19th/early 20th century style? (apologies to fans2tvshows who is obviously Catholic and knows something about how these beliefs affect William).

He was possibly tempted as well, but it really highlights his lack of experience there. Plus, Brax trying not to laugh at him was gold. I agree, virgin or not, there's a lack of experience. Perhaps William will be a bit "rusty" when it comes to the Wedding Night. I wonder if Julia is anticipating this in any way...?

Agreed about the venue-but I'm suspecting that Julia couldn't get William to discuss or commit on a venue (such as talking to his priest) so she had to take it upon herself to select the venue and therefore an ASAP date. You know, because honeymoon, and tie removal. Would William even think about talking to his priest? He assumed the wedding wasn't going to take place in his church there would be no reason to see the priest. He was genuinely surprised that Julia had made that sacrifice for him, he'd assumed that, once again, he'd be the one making sacrifices.

It's about time Julia did something for William, he's always compromising for her. It was a bit late but a biggie in my mind. I don't think she thought religious belief is psychologically harming William, just that god is allowing people to suffer when 'he' has the power to prevent all suffering and cruelty. The look on William's face was so priceless. He's used to being constantly pulled forward by Julia. Now she's acknowledging the importance of tradition for him. He's speechless! He's probably full of love for Julia at the minute. He probably wants to take her in the confession box. Julia's question about God was a nice insight on why she isn't particularly religious herself. She probably has a lot of questions about free will (I'm reading about that right now). I think she does also have questions on the self-flagellation issue, too - having seen that questionable stained glass window! She might have questions about why there are no women priests, etc. That's where the priest was very cool about separating The Hierarchy and The Rules from the meaning of religion.

If they haven't been together since she left Darcy she has to know he probably hadn't been with anyone whilst she was engaged/married to Darcy. With the possible exception of Anna but would Julia expect him to go with Anna if he hadn't been with her? I have to admit I don't think anything happened between them since TGM so as far as Julia knows he's not been with anyone since she met him.

Yeah! LOL when I saw that, my husband probably wondered what I was so amused at. William manning up with the tie straightening, absolutely classic. I laughed out loud and WOO HOOed! Go get-em tiger. Now if he would just do that with Julia....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I just has a William-esque vision of that! Julia lying on the bed in a come-hither pose. Maybe with a come-hither gesture. William doing the "manning up" tie move before his approach... SUPER SEXY!!!!

But her position as a psychiatrist opens up great opportunities for profiling. I'm hoping they get around to using her that way in the later episodes. Perhaps - maybe they don't have a writer that can make profiling interesting or make it fit in well with the style of the show? Maybe they consider that "done" with the Alienist Dr. Roberts (wa - it doesn't seem right to call Julia an Alienist!). Anyway, I think the plan is to integrate her better after the wedding is done with.

Tackle her like a linebacker into a bed of hay?
Maybe not quite as violently, but I doubt she'd be opposed. I think it's plausible. In fact I think it has to happen. Soon.

I agree that Wm is fine around such women when he's in detective mode. It's when a proposition gets under his skin that he squirms. He was so cute bumping into that table! No fears here that his resolve is in any danger of crumbling unless and until Julia gets ahold of that tie ! Yep, William was discombobulated by that letter because in a "private letter" a woman might just get a hold of his tie before Julia does!
