So here's the sneak peek. No, no,no. www.facebook.com/video.php?v=693040214107777Please stop with the baddies whose sole purpose is to torment W/J. Blood and Circuses was the first MM ep I ever saw. One of the things that intrigued me most (and immediately want to learn more about the show) was the strict, proper man of science and reason wanted to know his romantic fortune. Yes, but at a great cost. What was that cost? Freedom from James Gillies/Leslie Garland types? Seriously, please let this be a quick storyline.

Given the placement of that episode, I think the cost was that Julia couldn't have children. Grrr, you're making me go to facebook...

Just viewed it - I don't see how they can't get Leslie thrown off the case for conflict of interest. But I predict both Julia and Emily are going to see some jail time over this. Where was William?!!!!

Where was William?!!!! SPOILER____FOR Part 2 Well they did have a pic of Emily behind bars (and not too pleased). If she went then I imagine they all went to jail. Ahem!! Snacky didn't you tell me that William wouldn't leave them in jail? I think he would, actually. He warned Julia a couple of times and this isn't something she did on her own, she encouraged other women and "dragged" Emily into it too. But possibly he is busy getting broken ribs treated in hospital or somewhere. But the husbands of most of them would soon be bailing them out so the ladies could go home and make dinner.

I don't think William would be able to get them out if he wanted to. I really don't think he'd deliberately leave ladies in jail because "they got themselves into it" or "it's their argument to vindicate". I am wondering where it is, though. A hearing would probably be several days after the fight on the docks. William would have already gotten his broken ribs treated. I think if he realized Leslie was in the court room, he'd have a cow.

Hmmm, true, I hadn't thought about the time factor. But if found guilty, it seems they hung people right after their court case ended so maybe things moved a little faster than we're accustomed to. Truth be known, the only reason I thought Wm might not come to the ladies' aid is because of Julia's playful remark that her loving fiance would get her out. Whenever remarks like that are made, it seems to come back to bite them. I don't think she expected their little foray would escalate like it did nor did she envision it would get violent. If you look closely, as soon as the pushing and shoving started Julia ran back to get out of it and tried to pull Emily out of the fray (while Emily was busy swinging wood). The ending of their little demonstration was certainly not something she considered and I think William wouldn't have, either. Come to think of it, who called the police on the ladies? Oh I guess they were just there in case things turned bad? Seems to me, it was the police actions that escalated and turned things bad. Maybe a finger point to Toronto's G20 woes a few years back?

I don't think William would be petty when it comes to Julia actually going to jail and facing criminal charges. I think he's too much of a gentleman to even issue an "I told you so" later. He would be too worried for Julia's safety. I do get the feeling from the commercial that somehow Julia gets released but Emily remains in jail...? It would be interesting if we're getting some commentary on police violence as well as dock violence as part of the "changing times" here. It was pretty incredible that the police attacked the peaceful demonstration in the first place.

The G20 was a very dark day in Canada, I watched it all on TV and was totally disgusted. I've never had a high regard for police and that day did nothing to improve my opinion. MM is the only cop show I watch and that's because it's unusual.

I don't really watch cop shows, either. I wonder if that's why.

It still seems like it should be easy to get him tossed off any court case for conflict of interest. It should, in fact, be easy to get him disbarred just by bringing evidence of all the shenanigans he's been up to.
