I think you're right. I have been contemplating the parallels drawn between the lack of power women have in general society vs the all powerful woman running the docks on the dark side. That's how the sith lords get ya. But seriously, that's a good point. Even though the dockworkers are rapscallions in most respects, they seem to view women more as equals (well not the O'Sheas) and allow them greater freedom and power. I suppose it's because they live by the law of the jungle. Probably because working class women spend endless hours doing the work, not at their toilette to look beautiful so they can appear to do some useful charity work.

I think Slorach is saying Kapusta. It's Polish for cabbage. That explains why it smelled so bad.

I looked up the surname Slorach on ancestry.com. It seems to be Scottish but I thought the language was maybe Hungarian or Polish? Anglicization perhaps? I always thought my maiden name was English until some minor genealogical research turned up that it was in fact an anglicization of the German Berg. With a name like Hamish I suspect his father was Scottish but his mother Hungarian.

I thought Julia said piss ant but then I realized it was pissant. Pissant means a person of no value. Though piss ant is pretty funny and pissant's origin's have to do with pesky, smelly ants.

I LOVE IT when I'm right!!! Terrific episode. I really liked how the various murders and attacks were tied together, with a few surprises...well done Brax. Slorach, as suggested, has far more depth and honour than his demeanor suggests. Good job. Julia's tactics behind the scenes with the crown prosecutor are to be applauded. Nice to see that "piss ant" get his just desserts. I'm afraid though that he'll now become a much more dangerous enemy. I vote that Fallenbelle gets to have first comment on the last 3 minutes. Woo hoooo I just got home and can't wait to see the comments/twitter feed. I have some work to do, so I won't even try to find a source for the ep yet. The enthusiasm is heartening!
