I LOVE IT when I'm right!!! Terrific episode. I really liked how the various murders and attacks were tied together, with a few surprises...well done Brax. Slorach, as suggested, has far more depth and honour than his demeanor suggests. Good job. Julia's tactics behind the scenes with the crown prosecutor are to be applauded. Nice to see that "piss ant" get his just desserts. I'm afraid though that he'll now become a much more dangerous enemy. I vote that Fallenbelle gets to have first comment on the last 3 minutes. Woo hoooo I don't mind Slorach-but not as a replacement for Brax. I was a little disappointed how William didn't seem too concerned about her being in custody and going to court. I wonder what that conversation was like. Is he annoyed at her for getting into trouble? Did she want to stay to prove her point? Was he distracted by the case? I wonder if any more comment will be made about it next week? I do wonder if Leslie will be back later in the season and there will be a scene where dark!William carries out his threat? Not gonna lie-alpha!Brax and alpha!William are totes hot!

Okay. I've now watched Part II as well.
I enjoyed this very much. Although I was expecting some sort of great legal battle. I felt that would've been fun to watch. Pity it didn't happen.
The ending was very satisfying. But I do want to know one thing.
What language do the Sloraks speak? Russian? or...what?

They just did it like that to get rid of Leslie. The fab four are almost certainly going to be getting into more legal difficulties and require Clara's assistance. I'm looking forward to an epic court room battle. Though if a jury is involved, I don't know that it would matter how good the women's defence was... I believe it is Polish. Slorach's offering to Jackson was Kapusta, which is Polish for cabbage and that was definitely cabbage.

I enjoyed this episode and the full picture with last episode. I am glad the docks plot had a more definite conclusion instead of running deep roots into the ground. And it was great to see Brackenreid swinging again.
I liked William doing the Tarzan, what with all the talk about law of the jungle. That was funny and left Julia speechless for once. I liked their little chuckle over it.
And George in the end looked so sweet and matured. I have always liked him with Edna. There’s something about Edna that brings out the man in George. They looked so good together in S1.
I am relieved the women are free but I am sure they’ll be back in trouble in no time. Emily seems to be gradually stepping into the shoes of Dr. Emily Stowe who first led the Suffrage movement with her daughter for many years. And a female lawyer. Yeepee!
I liked mama Slorach and trust her to shine the light on her boy. This is the Slorach I know and like, not the one that showed up last episode. Glad they didn’t kill him.
I’ll talk about Leslie later!

Do you think that there would have been more enthusiasm for the premiere if this had been constructed as a 2 hour episode? As a 2 hour season premier, I think this episode has the potential to really increase viewership. It's dark, gritty, dealing with murder, extortion, human trafficking, the suffragette movement and an oh-so-hot alpha male hero dispensing both good policework and some jungle justice!!!! So many of you have only found MM recently and I've always been fascinated about which episode was your hook. I've been a rabid fan since the series premiered. I guess the only difference that makes is I've had more time to repeatedly rewatch every episode.

I agree that it would have been interesting to watch that conversation, probably through bars. They may have filmed it but the footage could have ended up on the cutting room floor. The ep was so jam-packed I don't know what they could have cut to fit that in. William has come so far with unwinding his forward thinking and his straight-laced values. He loves Julia for who she is...a trailblazer. He is resigned to the fact that this will inevitably lead to legal trouble but he sees her position as being on the right side of progress, therefore, controversial. All William needs to continue his support is that Julia's physical welfare is assured. He can't stop her and won't try. That is why he will be a much better husband for Julia than Darcy could ever be. I am hoping Leslie has gone the way of Sally Pendrick but either or both of them could be back seeking vengeance for being thwarted.

There will be no jungle love until the wedding night-but now that they're engaged, he can allow Julia some liberties with the tie. Some-she doesn't get to take it off until they've put a ring on it. Well they've certainly kissed before. I was expecting at least some passionate liplock, and possibly the need to clear the top of a desk. After all, William did just save Julia from Leslie Garland... My sentiments exactly!! That was the first time we have EVER seen a full on touch/stroke the tie that William fully allows and then she steps back. Waaaaaa! I actually squealed at that . Serious liplock was definitely deserved and she blew it! I found it interesting that Julia is always so firm about fighting her own battles but she seemed quite enamoured of this new alpha William.

She talks big game but when it comes down to it, she's like every other female who melts at their man protecting them. Besides, it did seem like Leslie could have possibly gotten hands on, he had little to lose at that point and obviously had much more to say/do before William popped in. They probably made out after they cut the scene.

I think I've mentioned this just recently, but this past summer I caught Blood and Circuses while back in the States-my stepmom watches the show. The show was okay for me-I didn't hate it, but what really made me want to find out more was the end-the detective obsessed with science, logic and science wanted his romantic fortune read. That sort of detail is what hooks me, and I made it a point to catch a few eps on Netflix and Ovation, and I was hooked. I love the attention to detail and the characterizations.

They probably made out after they cut the scene. This is true. I'm pretty brash and opinionated, but there have been times when I've been thankful for a man to come and offer backup-especially when I've been physically intimidated (I'm only 5'3-this isn't all that hard). Is this slightly contradictory to what women say they want, yes, it is. And that's gotta be confusing for a man, but I think what's key here is William isn't forcing anything Julia doesn't want on her-he's supporting her wishes by using his superior size and strength to back up her desire for Leslie to go away-he's not making her do anything. Because for all our independence and financial resources that we enjoy today (thank you foremothers for putting up with that $h*t and fighting that battle to bring us this far), we (at least my friends and I) still want the man to be a man and be manly and use his superior size and strength to protect us. Also, to be super hot and alpha in the bedroom.Does that make sense? No, I'm definitely not thinking about writing a fic where they make out after the scene cuts.

Of course it would be Garland against Julia and Emily. "That little pissant" - great discription, Julia. I hope that is the last we see of him. I really like the girls buddy relationship, they have a nice dynamic. They needed a W/J scene when Julia was in custody, it felt jarring they didn't have one considering they're engaged.
I'm not really happy about Jackson taking a chunk of Higgins role in the show. I like Jackson, but Higgins doesn't deserve being partially replaced. I don't understand why Higgins couldn't have those scenes. It's nice to have Brackenreid back.
It was obvious Ceclia was the puppet master. Sadly, I didn't think this was the strongest episode or that the storylines really needed a two-parter. But I still like Edna as much as I did before. It's a shame she won't be the one George will marry, they have good chemistry. And the final W/J scene was good, they're so cute.

Well as long as it's contributing to building up this DirtyHarry!William, I am intrigued... By the way, I just saw watched the previews, and it looks like they are going to deal with the church issue that Carco and I went on endlessly about!!!! As am I. I like this darker!William-I can't wait for the new episodes. I haven't seen a preview yet-so I'm looking forward to that as well. I am already having serious Noir William fantasies. Bring it on MM writers!!! Though it does encourage me to speculate in the Greek Tragedy direction, so apologies in advance to lovemondays and mrsbrisby. I'll put a warning if I come up with an especially dark scenario.
