We went to this exhibit in the afternoon after the set tour in July. It's a great exhibit, mainly shoes as you'd expect from a shoe museum. We spent about an hour looking around it. I have to say the shoes were not exactly made for comfort, your foot had to fit the shoe rather than the shoe fit your foot. One of my feet wouldn't have fit in two of the shoes. Your feet were supposed to be narrow and dainty, even the mens. Can't imagine what they suffered wearing those shoes. I bet! I always feel like a giant when I look at old clothes, but people were much tinier back in the day! It's quite startling, actually. Here in Japan-you can really see what having more protein in a diet does-it's easily comparable in the population. The size difference between those who were children during the pre-war, war, and post war period is very different than the young adults of today-who grew up with a steady diet of protein-including lots of beef, dairy, and cheese. It's not uncommon to see a young adult male of 5'10, and I used to have a coworker who was 6'1.

Per CBC, this episode is now 8.12. Actually, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to know that they've been altering the order as they go according to editing, special effects, etc. When you think about it, there are very few episodes that have to be shown in a certain sequence, and if one episode requires extra editing, this would make perfect sense from a production standpoint. www.cbc.ca/programguide/daily/2015/01/26/cbc_television/?t=1421038302288

Only 15 seconds, booooo~ I hope those protesters are corset-burners and not temperance league corset-wearers!

I'm wondering if they've been starving us of Jilliam just to thrill us with this tasty bit!

Oh, my! William's looking for any excuse to take that off, isn't he? Argh, that had better be just hot chocolate and not someone else.

You don't think they're actually going to give us a bedroom scene do you?? I suspect this is all we're going to get from the two of them at home though I do hope for more....

Still not home, but I'm guessing this is the corset removal scene hinted at during the Wedding Panel?
There should also be a bedroom scene at some point, re: the gag reel. William gets out of bed for work, but for the gag reel it was to fix George's love life. And Julia swears a lot, lol.
Hot coco! Drowning in Chocolate must be having a coniption!!!!

Sadly, he's lacing her up into it as opposed to taking it off-but it's still rather suggestive. SpoilersSpoilersSpoilersSpoilersSpoilersSpoilers Based on PM's comment about "her not wearing corsets anymore" (or something to that effect), I predict he does remove it one last time at the end of the episode. Or at least that's what I'm hoping for...

Oh, my! William's looking for any excuse to take that off, isn't he? Argh, that had better be just hot chocolate and not someone else. LOL! I finally got to see this! What's interesting to me is that William seems very practical and matter-of-fact while initiating the "corset experiment". This is very in character, which I like A LOT. It also shifts my fanfic idea of William, which was probably a little too suave in the bedroom. Hot chocolate instead of tea? Hmm, does that have any ulterior meaning (besides possibly being a call out to Drowning in Chocolate?). Was that considered an aphrodisiac? Was it a standard evening drink? Was it somehow a new fad in the early 20th c? It seems curious to me because I associate hot coco more with children...

Or at least that's what I'm hoping for... If I remember correctly, Helene said she got in "corset trouble" and William had to rescue her? That would be the reason for full corset emancipation by the end of the episode. Especially if William invents the bra.
