Are you one of those annoying people who asks questions while the movie is playing? How bout you watch the ep instead of me telling you everything that happens. Nope, Devil Wears Whalebone is not up yet. But this is interesting: the episode after that shows as The Murdoch Trap. They seem to have access to TV Programming Guide info we don't have. But they don't realize that's a rerun.

Perhaps Emily will convince her to give it a go? I'm sure Murdoch would approve...eventually. I guess it wasn't illegal to go corset free...but like Emily, most women would've felt naked without it so they kept wearing them. And also, didn't they kinda have to in order to wear a lot of those dresses? I'm hoping that will happen but there's usually no continuation of the stories from one ep to the next. It was just what women did, some men too. The shape of the clothes didn't exactly fit a natural figure. If you had your clothes made though you could go corset free. Lillian Moss is thin enough she could probably get her clothes off the rack but I'm wondering what stores would sell her masculine style clothes. If Lillian is rich, she can have her clothes specially tailored.

Violet has been mentioned I think as recently as S6 (CoD) but I don't think since then and I don't think we ever saw her after the pilot ep. I'm not sure she's still alive because of KFC...or they just decided she wasn't necessary so didn't include her. We saw her in that ep that where dogs were being experimented on and George allowed Violet to be kidnapped so he could follow her. Oh yeah...

I'm still missing the romance (I mean between William & Julia because something is seriously going on between Emily & Lillian ) but otherwise these past two episodes have rekindled my faith with the show's brilliance… I'm so glad to hear that! I feel there was something mis-handled about the way the eps were stacked which made MM too "fluffy" at the front end after the audience had been prepped for a "10% darker" season.

Oh wow, I'm so slow! Didn't realize the whole randomly broken wrist thing was because of that! They just gave Julia a randomly broken wrist instead of integrating that into the mystery or squeezing some angst out of it?

I'm actually not too concerned that it's a rerun, it's getting dangerously close to the end of this season, only six more eps to go.... Time to increase the eps to 26 like the US seasons!! They could easily take several breaks over the course of filming. I think showing The Murdoch Sting is a good way to ease into The Incurables as Eva Pearce is one of the asylum inmates.

Shoot shoot shoot btw, CBC Murdoch on Twitter said that next week is a repeat so the new episode won't be until Feb 9th :/ Yeah, no preview...oh well, I take one week breaks over month long ones any day of the week! I wonder why they had to delay another week...?

But I think MM would need to expand its writing staff again first, because even at 18 they are already getting patchy quality and filler, which suggests a lot of rushed writing and filming. Also I believe the way US TV shows prevent grinding its actors down into itty bitty grains of exhausted sand is they break down into several shooting seasons/blocks. They don't do all 26 in a row.

I actually wish they had stayed with the 13 ep formula. I always prefer quality over quantity and I'm afraid I find half of most US shows to be filler and rather a waste of time to watch. Sure some eps are necessary stepping stones to something grander but that shouldn't need to be like half of a season....

Ahhh, got it. I wondered why she wasn't in that particular episode, especially as it was ripe for jealous!Julia scenes (what with the return of that lady from season five. I can't remember her name now. I didn't really pay too much attention to the ep, tbh). Even without Julia, it's ripe for jealous!Julia fanfic (or possibly Threesome!fic). If only I had the time...

I wrote the dinner scene with Julia in it like it was supposed to be.
