The high fitting collar is also required? Look at the wedding dress of Dr QUINN.
Wow that is a crazy lot of ruffles. Less is more where Julia is concerned. I think the point being made here was that Julia could show some skin. I agree she'd never wear something as flowing as this, but not that matronly schoolmarm ensemble she's got going on either. Somewhere in the middle, perhaps?

I think some more research into the cool gowns of the time by the MM costuming dept. was required. Our forum did a better job!

The Inspector said: ONE OF THEM gets a ring... I caught that, but the romantic in me was hoping that Julia would surprise him with his own ring. The CP has had one in 801&802 most recently, so it's not unheard of. It's also possible Yannick just forgot to take his own rings off for a scene...

It's a bloody good important reason! Municipal elections aren't as important as MM! Perhaps if it had been provincial or federal.... I just became grateful: I won't be around Monday or Tuesday, LOL!

I'm starting to think that the MM costumer is starting to phone it in. For the most part, her outfits have all looked the same for the past few seasons, and. I'm willing to bet that they just keep reusing the same 2/3patterns. Her (trolled?) wedding gown is basically the same as her other outfits-just that it's in satin.

There's coverage of municipal elections? That's dedication, there! At least where I'm from, municipal electoral coverage is nonexistent, and I'm having difficulty remembering if we have coverage in the mid-terms? I'm thinking it's only presidential elections that get uninterrupted coverage. 2nd Tuesday in November-one of you Americans will have to tell me if we cover midterms?

I'm getting a lot of crap in the mail concerning upcoming elections, but I doubt TV will be disrupted. Our TV has too much "top down" control for that.

Interesting article. life.nationalpost.com/2013/01/06/forensics-furbelows-the-costumes-of-murdoch-mysteries/?__federated=1But still, interesting to note that they're a "he" and not a she. Im wondering if the costuming budget got slashed considerably when they moved to CBC. A small price to pay for the continued show production, but I do think they're missing out on some fun steampunk elements.

I was under the impression the Redas were a couple who have been working with MM from the beginning. Some of the characters in Murdoch in Wonderland are named after them. I agree they have erred on the side of the "dowdy" - but I guess that's why they won points for "historical accuracy".
