Wow that is a crazy lot of ruffles. Less is more where Julia is concerned. I think the point being made here was that Julia could show some skin. I agree she'd never wear something as flowing as this, but not that matronly schoolmarm ensemble she's got going on either. Somewhere in the middle, perhaps? That's what I meant.
Pictures come from 22ontariostreet.tumblr.com/. Their wedding is presented as the wedding of the twentieth century, that's why I think they could have made an effort even if I know there also is a code dress to respect.

I have no idea. The woman just did a post on FB or twitter with no pics. I looked at the Cathedral web site - William's church looks much smaller. It looks even smaller than St. Paul's Basilica. Grr. The good news is we'll hopefully have the name of a church to pin. It's a work in progress.

Are you talking about the church where the wedding is supposed to take place? The name and whereabouts of William's church has never been mentioned but it would have to be close to Mrs. Kitchen's boarding house I would think. The actual church the filming was done at is St. Lawrence the Martyr, 475 Mary Street - Hamilton, and is on fb, www.facebook.com/stlawrencehamilton and also has a website, stlawrencehamilton.ca/.

Good point! Get the revelry out of the way so our happy couple can get on with some serious planning before Margaret runs away with the whole thing! I don't think either William or Julia are very into planning. They should just let Margaret run away with the whole thing while they go about their regular lives! (Maybe Margaret will take care of the house issue, too!) Oh man I can see her now- "Guess what, the house next to ours went up for sale! anddddd We used your money and bought it for you! SURPRISE WE'RE NEIGHBORS!"

St. Lawrence the Martyr is such a pretty church!! I love how they made an event of last week's episode. More good news...the promo church with the awful dress and hair is not the same as St. Lawrence ergo that is a nightmare scenario they're pitching.

This is probably another hint that they are going to get Julia out of the "constricting gown" and into "lets just get married" street clothes...

I'm skeptical as to whether the MM costuming team would invest in multiple dresses though... Wouldn't it be funny if in each "dream" Julia progressively lost a piece of that dress, sort of like a game of strip poker, until she was wearing something more streamlined?

The skirt isn't so bad, but yeah, if they'd only do something to the bodice each time they had a nightmare, that would be good. Or, if they'd remove a few frills. I know now that there were pics earlier this summer of filming, but I've looked online and can't find them now. I'm really hoping we get something fancier than a courthouse quickie.

My sentiments exactly. I think we deserve a decent wedding after everything we've been put through the past 100 episodes. And of course William & Julia deserve a decent wedding too-they've been waiting as long as we have!

Since the writers established St. Lawrence the Martyr as William's church visually rather than by name in Glory Days they have committed themselves, through Father Clement's agreement, to have the wedding there, IMO. No courthouse quickie for the Wedding of the Century! Yippee!! Right now I'm much more concerned about the dress and hair they do for Julia than I am about the church. IMO there are far more questions about the former than the latter.

And we took the liberty of hiring mommy Mrs. Kitchen as your housekeeper... YES I'm starting to get a bad vibe concerning any future housekeeper Julia tries to hire. William will probably be constantly nitpicking and comparing the beef stew...

Apparently there were multiple wedding scenes shot in several churches I believe which is what's leading me to believe there will be nightmares.
