Since the writers established St. Lawrence the Martyr as William's church visually rather than by name in Glory Days they have committed themselves, through Father Clement's agreement, to have the wedding there, IMO. No courthouse quickie for the Wedding of the Century! Yippee!! Right now I'm much more concerned about the dress and hair they do for Julia than I am about the church. IMO there are far more questions about the former than the latter. I wished I could share your optimism. Right now, I'm thinking nerves, nightmares, and Mrs. B have have W/J just deciding to elope at the end-that last scene looks like a courthouse to me, and that they'll probably just fade to black as they walk through the doors. However, I hope I'm wrong. St. Lawrence the Martyr Church wasn't founded until 1959 and it is way east in Scarborough which would have been sparsely developed in 1902. I will check to see if the church was relocated.

I'd just like to share my observation that we've speculated on this episode (with a week to go, yet) more than we've discussed already aired episodes.

However, I hope I'm wrong. St. Lawrence the Martyr Church wasn't founded until 1959 and it is way east in Scarborough which would have been sparsely developed in 1902. I will check to see if the church was relocated. It looks like the most likely church to be William's home parish is St. Paul's Basilica. It was the first Catholic church built in Toronto in 1822. It's located in Corktown which is bounded by Queen Street to the north and Parliament Street to the west. This location would be a bit of hike from William's home, if it was near Dundas St, but an easy bike ride. As far as I can tell, this was the ONLY Catholic church east of Yonge St. until after 1900. Keep in mind, Toronto was a "Protestant town" so it makes sense that there weren't that many Catholic neighbourhoods that could raise enough funds to build a church. The writers have intentionally left the name of William's church out of all dialogue. They may decide to keep it that way.

I'm hoping CBC will release another clip before it airs next week.

MM knows that the natives on FB are already in a frenzy! This is CBC's opportunity to get viewership of MM to an all-time high. They will capitalize on that. I just hope there's more to the ep than just the shipper arc. (This from the shipper-queen.) IMO many new people will tune in to see what the hype is about but if they don't get a good murder mystery plot too they'll just change the channel. Fingers crossed on both counts .

I'm a hardcore shipper too, I just hope there's more to it than the wedding as well. I suspect there will be-nothing really mysterious about a wedding. I really hope my original theory turns out to some degree. There's some sort of crime connected to weddings, and William keeps getting sent to them to solve the mystery. Then, at the end-there's a special wedding-his own.

Can you believe that I'm actually putting more time into my schoolwork now, and I cleaned the bathroom, swept and vacuumed the floors the other day (remember I'm the world's worst housewife). I'm definitely in keeping busy mode.

murdochmysteriesfanpage 13 hours ago Don't worry if you think you missed tonight's #MurdochMysteries episode- it was just a repeat. Next week is a new one though, and wedding bells will ring!
Maybe will will get the wedding after all but I still don't completely trust the MM team.

However, CC speculated on Tumblr that they could just fade out on an image of William's tie on the floor, and that might possibly make up for the lack of a wedding. For me, at least, anyway.

That could work. We figure William's saved himself for marriage and we know what happens when the tie's off so it would definitely suggest a ceremony of some sort has taken place. Not as satisfying as an actual wedding but lets face it, it's what happens after that counts and William will finally lose his virginity - if he hasn't already!

If I didn't think I'd get heaps of hate mail, I'd probably have already written a William/Anna angst tryst from SotWS. It certainly hints that it happened, and if it did, that was certainly the opportunity.

It was and whilst I'd like to believe it did I also want to believe that Willliam is a virgin so I'll go with they had fun but didn't go all the way.
