Check out how well Yannick promotes MM. He is brilliant! I can't watch the vid until I get home, but I read an article right before filming started in which Yannick was really authoritative on the importance of MM as a Canadian show. I'd never seen him so aggressive about it before. But it made sense once I found out he was now an exec producer. He's good at it!

I only realized yesterday that Yannic is an exec producer. Maybe he's what they need to get this series launched properly in the U.S. market.

I'll check if I saved it when I get home. He talked about representing Canada - really awesome little speech.

I only realized yesterday that Yannic is an exec producer. Maybe he's what they need to get this series launched properly in the U.S. market. I've spent the last hour or so hunting for it with no luck at all. I tend to bookmark things that interest me, so I'm wondering if the title doesn't have Yannick's name or "Murdoch Mysteries" in it, which would make it harder to find. In the meantime, here are some gems for you: Things we learn from Yannick's twitter feed (I knew it was educational!): www.cbc.ca/connects/blog/7-things-we-learned-from-yannick-bissons-twitter-qaDorkShelf does a turn-around (without apologizing) since Stephen Ogg was in GTW: dorkshelf.com/2014/10/20/steven-ogg-talks-murdoch-mysteries-and-grand-theft-auto-v/An interview with some of Yannick's favorite things: seaandbescene.com/2014/01/yannick-bisson-fff-friday-favourite-four/ A nice interview where Peter Mitchell tries to describe Murdoch Mysteries and seems to confess to perusing "fan boards": arts.nationalpost.com/2014/01/14/stinson-how-to-describe-murdoch-mysteries-successful-to-start/Yannick not apologizing for Toronto as "star": scenecreek.com/interviews/yannick-bisson-chats-about-murdoch-mysteries/I wish I could find this other article, though. I would bet anything I quoted it here at some point. He refers to something like the personal weight of responsibility he feels for representing Canada in an International show. But I also thought it sounded like he was ready to begin the new season kicking ass and chewing bubble gum.

Did you watch the interview? And what is up with the boat??? Not yet (just woke up). Might save it until later - multitasking while posting right now. I did see Yannick referring to a boat in Twitter. He seriously bought one? LOL! That will be fun getting back to the U.S.! Unless he plans to build a house sail it himself.

Sorry, but the academic in me forces me to say this. When Yannick mentions that MM is the most selling series to come out of Canada, what does he mean? Is there anything to support the statement like a list of "best selling Canadian television shows?" I believe him, but I would love to see that report.

I believe him, but I would love to see that report. I think you would have to write ITV for such a report. Yannick isn't making this up - these numbers would be a function of MM's distribution across many International markets. This is MM's main selling point at MIPCOM, and a bigger reason for CBC to buy it than the Canadian market, if I understand the situation correctly.

MM is seen in 110 'markets', I don't think any other Canadian show has ever been seen in so many countries. One or two shows have done well internationally but never like MM it's quite the phenomenon for a Canadian show.

Finally got a chance to watch this! Yannick mentioned MM's visual style! Noir charmant. Testing the video embed issue. William gets more than he bargained for at his bachelor party.

Stylewise it's a steampunk cabaret stripper vid. I loved it! Also one of the best covers of Lady Marmalade I've heard IMO. You're right. William's restraint would have been out the window! Goes back to read CC and Fallenbelle's fics for reassurance.
