Toronto Globe and Mail tags MM as a "cozy" mystery but defines a cozy as avoiding corruption, gore, and ambivalence. Ergo, MM is not a cozy by a definitive 3 strikes. However the name and the noir-charmant style tempt lazy reviewers to misclassify the show. grr.

Thanks for reminding me to screencap this: OMG! Frantically looking for snort-laugh emoticon !!. Tanya won Twitter with that one. Plus I think she was the one that implied that Prop Monkey is working on the Uber Toy for an upcoming ep...

By the way - was it edgy to suggest Canada might have tried to intervene on the Southern side of the U.S. Civil War in order to break up the U.S. before it became the big bully it is today, or is that just a known historical fact/theory...?

Definitely edgy from a U.S. perspective. Well it was news to me just because we don't learn anything about Canada in school, and it's kind of mind-boggling to get Canada's perspective on things like this. But would this be news to Canadians?

But would this be news to Canadians? Not really. Keep in mind though that we don't actually study U.S. history until grade 11 or 12 and as an elective at that. Most of our knowledge occurs through independent study and absorption through media.

I do know that it was seriously discussed in Britain before they decided against it on moral grounds (after they had already introduced slavery to the American colonies anyway). Maybe it was to split the US, but they were also highly dependent upon southern cotton to fuel their textile industries. They decided to look elsewhere (e.g. India), and exploit the crap and oppress those people instead.

Since Canada was still under Britain's aegis, I suppose this makes sense. Still it's weird to think about nice old Canada doing espionage maneuvers to undermine the U.S., lol. *feel free to insert Canada Rant here*

I rewatched 'Murdoch of the Living Dead' the other night and thought the ending of that was rather edgy with the murder of Dr. Bates by one of his "Hyper-Agressive Humans"

Makes sense though. You need to get yourself an I Am Canadian rant t-shirt.
