You also have wriggly bundles of love to snuggle up to in the winter! I make it a point to never, ever complain about the heat in summer so that I can freely bemoan the cold in winter. Have you seen the windchill forecast for tonight? Minus 41C!!!! The fire is already going!! I'm usually sat with two bundles firmly attached to my hips (one is impeding me as I try and type). The weather here is atrocious today with snowsqualls, wind and low temps. We were going into London but decided against it! Hahahaha! I'm at the cottage looking out on a beautiful day but I'm NOT going out!

Well I'm very glad to be well out of it. Two weeks ago when KW got 2 feet of snow, Whitby only got 8 inches...and I had to be in Waterloo without snow tires at the time .

We ended up in the ditch just west of London on Sunday night on the way home from the station, spent the night in a hotel. I never travel to Toronto in the van in winter just because of the weather.

The cottage is on the west side of Lake Simcoe, south of Barrie. I've been watching the crazy ice fishermen driving their pickup trucks and snowmobiles to their ice fishing huts. There's a foot of snow on the ground, a roaring fire and a nice glass of Pinot Grigio going on here ! The only antidote to winter IMHO!

Oh, and I forgot the best part....lively discussion with my fav MM folk! I was planning to go out today - Valentines Day - but it took me 4 hours to get to page 1 of new posts hahaha. This is almost as bad as the Wedding Episode. Perhaps this is an absinthe and crumpets worthy evening.

I am a summer girl for sure. I run away from the cold in the Great White North as often as possible. My husband and I joke that when we retire (early, of course ) we'll have a summer home in Canada (can't decide on BC or Eastern) and a winter home in Mexico-Yucatan. You know, because teachers are so wealthy, this will totally happen! I personally have always liked Fall-I like the changing colors, crisp air, and even the smell of it-when I'm not in the city that is. haha, the joke in the US is that you have to retire in Mexico because Social Security is so low.

The fact that the cost of living is low in Mexico is just a bonus! I love the culture, people, food, natural beauty, etc. If I could earn what I make in Japan, but in Mexico, I'd move there in a heartbeat.
