I've noticed it in previous eps this season. His suits always looked so good but I'm not liking them this season. I thought Reda was padding them out a little last season to give William the same "satisfied married look", and perhaps to let poor Yannick eat a little more. It's also possible suit fashions were changing during the time period. Barefoot pwns all! That's 2 socks closer to the nudist colony! Can't wait for that part of the ep! there's been a few tweets to yannick about looking fatter...not sure why he responded...

That was a good episode! To nitpick, I think the idea that someone was murdering Sally Brown's betrayers was on the table as soon as William had the Last Supper epiphany. I enjoyed both the set up and the theme, though. Both the statues and the art mannequins were cool gimmicks. There needs to be more Julia with drill and goggles like there needs to be more cowbell. The line where William suggests that Julia go talk to the women seemed a bit awkward - as if they had thrown Julia at the case once too often, and her involvement was becoming fan service. Anyone else get that vibe? What does walking barefoot next to the fountain imply - were they splashing their feet in the fountain a few minutes before? Noticed the loose suit jacket, too. Odd. I'm going to rewatch this ep again just for the details about electroplating. I hope there's some delightful easter egg I missed... Looking forward to eps with bigger emotional stakes. my sister can confirm that it is conceivable for them to have covered the bodies that way with that silver nitrate substance or whatever it was, I can't remember...and had the electroplating stick. she's studying goldsmithing. i bet the writers contrived of one of the only ways to do this with the available resources back then. nice research...though i highly doubt anything like that ever happened. as to how ginny did it all herself...i'm gonna say magic.

Really enjoyed this ep. I suspected the priest at one point, I think William did too. I did notice Julia was on the wrong side of the bed. (My) Rebecca commented on how different William looked sans vest and tie, he even had his shoes off earlier when they were discussing the case then shoes and socks off in the park. I don't think we've ever seen William so lacking in clothing as many times in one ep. I wanted the tie play in that final W/J scene. William was practically naked in this ep! Of course the barefoot scene is nice, but I think my favorite was when he woke Julia up to discuss the Last Supper and the apostles and his shirt was unbuttoned, untucked, and no tie! Ooh la la! didn't even notice...too busy laughing at julia's expression...and the fact that he was acting like a little kid excited about opening presents

Overall first impressions-really enjoyed it and looking forward to seeing Rebecca James's character as well.
I must say this episode was rather packed with goodies! Julia with a Blowtorch, the files around everywhere scene, Brackenreid was really together and on form this episode "He hates it when I'm right" "And all that mumbo jumbo". Good to see George and Higgins getting along again. Mystery was well done as well, with a good twist! And Jenny I thought had an interesting reason why she committed the murders.
Might have more when I watch again tonight

Has anyone noticed that William's suits don't seem to be fitting him well this season? They seem too big for him. Perhaps he's got some new ones, I don't recognize at least one he wore tonight. Sorry Hodge, I didn't notice the suit he was wearing. But I DID notice what he wasn't wearing at various points in this episode.....hat, tie, vest, suit jacket, socks, shoes. I'm liking very married William

I had one too, when I was into painting, drawing, etc. And when I took classes clay modelling years ago, we were required to purchase a copy of Gray's Anatomy.

Interesting too that she referred to William multiple times as "my husband" rather than Det. Murdoch when speaking to Ginny and Rebecca. We've never heard that before. We haven't. I have to admit that it sounded odd but I didn't connect why until you mentioned it. I think it might have been because Rebecca James didn't know who the previous corner was. Its not like she and Emily ever met or anything (at least to my knowledge) So saying "Emily" used to work here, Rebecca would be like "Emily?Who what?" Same sort of thing with the my husbund/det. murdoch thing. Or we could be reading too mcuh into this

Now that's more like it. This was a really good episode, an interesting crime (though a bit obvious), featured all characters, and loads of W/J, including an adorable kiss. I love when William and Julia work on cases together, they're such a great investigative team. Rebecca seems nice and I'm intrigued by how she's so educated, but working as a cleaner. This should be a good arc. Though I think the show have plot holes going on by not telling us a) why Julia decided to become the coroner again, b) what happened with the asylum, and c) how is Emily doing. They need to tell us. How Ginny moves around those women by herself is also a mystery. I find it odd the red-haired friend of Ginny's just disappeared. Perhaps she was a partner, but she too betrayed Ginny and slipped away while Ginny took the blame.

I love it when writers use contrasts to define their character. William is strongly defined by his buttoned-up look. Undressing him a bit says a lot about the context without a word of dialogue. I'm still not sure why they were barefoot in the park, though!

In the Pendrick Arrow but I don't ever recall Julia riding in it.... weird.I have no doubt that William was able to convince George to lend him the bromobile for an evening... lol - that's fun to think about! Though you would think with Julia's fortune that the Murdochs would have their own car for William to tinker with. Perhaps the hotel lacks a secure parking lot.

My brain just went completely sideways with that idea. Also my cue to retire for the night. No, it's your cue to embrace your muse and write that fic! By the way, did you see my MM "fantasy football" son-of-William arc in the Other TV Shows section?
