There has been by the person on Facebook who said he had a recent leaving party on set. And considering how little Brackenreid has been in this season I can believe it's true about Thomas leaving. Of course, it may not be true, but his absences aren't a good sign. That was an end of filming party and Thomas Craig was leaving for England right after it, which he does every year......we been through this before, when Helene Joy wasn't in every one, because she was filming other projects and some people were convinced she was leaving...... It would be great if Thomas Craig were staying but I wouldn't be surprised if he left. What I would like to see is Brackenreid become Chief Constable then he could be in a few episodes briefly and shooting could be done over a couple of weeks, all in the studio so the seasonal changes aren't a problem.

And it looks like we may have guessed correctly, Murdork ! If that is what happens then it will be heartbreaking for Julia if she thinks William is dead. If the cliffhanger is left on us not knowing if William is dead, then we know for sure is is alive because you can't have MM without Murdoch. Could it be Brackenreid being killed? Only for real, with Thomas Craig leaving the show. I don't know that anyone is going to actually die at the end of the season, but I do suspect that everyone will think W has died, but since as you said you can't have MM without William, he won't actually have died. I suspect that he'll have to go so deep undercover for his safety and for others- particularly Julia. I don't see him leading Julia to think he has died when he actually hasn't all that lightly. I do believe there will be a very compelling reason for it.

I think with all his added airtime they are setting us up for the loss of Jackson. I agree. Kristian Brun has said he's moving to LA next month. I'm kind of amused that Kristian is working so closely with Daniel Maslany, the brother of his 'wife' in Orphan Black. What? Jackson's wife died 2 years ago? Watt's sister disappeared? I didn't know that about Jackson. But good for the actor, I hope it means good things but I hope he chooses to go out West or something rather than be killed...we just lost Worsely last season. Yes, his wife died two years ago? Watts' sister? Excellent character details.

I don't want him to leave, and I hope he was just busy filming another project, but given all of his absences this year, I am trying to prepare myself for that eventuality. Given that HJ later admitted that she was "off" the show for a brief time (I think after season 4) and that the new people had to convince her to return (at season 5), she actually did leave.

I don't want TC to leave either but I've prepared myself for that possibility. The episodes he's been missing have proved that the show can stand without him but I'd much prefer it with him in some capacity. I know TPTB had thought of killing off Julia. I didn't know HJ had actually left, if she knew that before the end of S4 Julia's marriage to Darcy makes more sense.

Killing off Julia or having her leave would have been the biggest mistake MM ever made. You can't have MM without Julia, and of course Murdoch. It could survive Brackenreid and even George leaving, but it wouldn't survive Julia leaving. Viewers would turn off if that happened. She has become has essential to the show as William is. S5 showed us that her not being around makes things feel off.
I don't want Brackenreid to leave, but his current absence feels bigger than Julia's one in S5. I never doubted she'd be back and she'd be staying, but this season almost feels like they're paving the way for a Brackenreid exit. I also wonder what kept the actor away for so much of the season so far. And it appears Brackenreid will be gone for at least a couple more episodes. That's an even bigger absence than Julia had in S5.

S5 had less episodes so her being gone for half the episodes didn't feel as big. Brackenreid feels like he's barely been in this season, and we have no idea if he'll be back before the finale. What William said in the latest episode made it seem like he'll be gone a while. Plus the Watts subplot seems like it'll run for much of the remaining episodes, and if Watts is around then Brackenreid probably won't be. I wish we had more clues to when we could expect him back.

This type of series is akin to a soap opera and we get used to the characters in three dimension. It would fail without the central characters such William, Julia, Crabtree and Brackenried. They changed the characters in NCIS and viewing figures dived world wide. I have been a fan of MM since the beginning but I must admit that the Lurker episode bringing back Pendrick was sheer silly and more like a pantomime than a mystery drama. The poorest episode of the entire 10 series. If this is to carry on they must retain the characters and keep in mind that it is a mystery drama. One of the best lines I look out for is "Bloody hell Murdock" without that there will always be something missing.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought I was a lover but maybe according to this I'm a hater? I didn't know that loving something required blind, unquestioning loyalty... Help me out, I'm confused.

TBH I find PM's attitude to viewers to be condescending. He should probably post less in fan spaces. I prefer not to visit the Facebook page because you can't freely talk about the show. If you aren't always praising how things are being done PM thinks you're a hater and should stop watching. That is a ridiculous attitude for a showrunner to take. We can't and won't always love what happens. He should also quit trying to scare and annoy viewers before we've even seen the finale. I'll judge the finale when I've actually seen it... If it's got to do with William 'dying' then I won't be all that upset because he obviously won't be dead. If they actually kill one of the original characters then I will be very unhappy. But so long as William Murdoch and Julia Ogden are still in the show then I will continuing watching. I'm not a fairweather fan.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought I was a lover but maybe according to this I'm a hater? I didn't know that loving something required blind, unquestioning loyalty... Help me out, I'm confused. Unfortunately on fb it does require blind, unquestioning loyalty. If you dare to say you don't like an episode/season that's treason. To be honest I have enjoyed most episodes in S10, HOWEVER, and this may seem odd, I haven't enjoyed it AS A SEASON. There was always something missing, not characters, I believe they dealt with the actors' absence well. The thing that was missing was the character arc, we did have a bit of a story arc with Det. Watts but that's over and he needs to go back to SH1. We need the character arc, the background story that ties the episodes together into one distinct season. S1&2's W mooning over J, S3's developing romance, S4's W once again mooning over J, S5's W rebuilding his life and J/D's disintegrating marriage, S6's divorce, S7's rebuilding of the relationship. The relationship arcs have been weak or non existent since then unless you include George's romances - which I am NOT interested in. The show is about William Murdoch and ultimately any character arc, IMO, should include him. We complained bitterly about the lack of marriage in S8 and got some back in S9, we seem to have lost it again in S10. CAN WE PLEASE HAVE IT BACK IN S11? I don't give a toss who George is going out with next, I want to see W/J's relationship and I don't think I'm the only one.

Not trying to be condescending. Just adding a little levity. Happy to stay out of it
