If kissing another man's wife were a crime you'd have done time, William. Notice how they keep mentioning that? If he loved you, he would never have let you marry another? Ouch, Julia. That was a zinger. Methinks William and Julia need to have another argument and resolve some issues. That or have a serious talk, which you two don't seem to do. I thought for a moment that these remarks, especially the one about marrying another, was going to lead to something. They certainly seemed fine and dandy at the end of the episode! What is going on... On an unrelated note, I did notice some adverts hanging up outside advertising mortgages! Maybe they will get a house this season! (finally) After catching the bank robbers (well kind of) William should be getting a no interest mortgage from the Trader's Bank!

If William is confessing personal matters to Brax, shit's serious. Has he ever done that before? No, really. I wanna know. If he loved you, he would never have let you marry another? Ouch, Julia. These were the two things that stood out most to me. What was it Brax said to Julia? "Murdoch keeps his own counsel Doctor, you should know that." No, I don't ever recall him discussing personal matters. Things are serious. Yep, OUCH!

I know PM said that Julia's illness is more or less behind her, but I'm thinking there are some things that need to be said. Are we to assume that they'll never be resolved and that every so often, anger will bubble up between them?

I do see some frustrations, probably at things left unsaid. William in particular has, to my recollection, only been angry at Julia once and that was after she confronted him over punching Darcy. It's the only time I recall Julia being really angry with William though she does occasionally show a little testiness. Perhaps I read their reactions differently as I'm familiar with frustration and upset being interpreted as anger.

I guess I don't see the issue with being frustrated and upset sometimes displaying itself as anger. I don't see them as mutually exclusive. Perhaps William has learned not to voice his anger (unless directly attacked), but I've decided to interpret sending Julia off to the hospital by herself as anger/upset. It doesn't have to involve shouting or screaming. Yes, he still loves and cares for her, but I think he knew what she had just tried to do, and didn't/couldn't deal with it at that moment.

Not to mention that there was a fire to fight and work has always taken precedence over personal matters. Sometimes frustration and upset does turn to anger but I really don't see it with these two. I think we see anger differently. You write Julia as being angry a lot and I don't see her anywhere near as angry as you do. We can agree to differ on this as that's why this show appeals to so many, they can see anything they want in it.

From the way they'd hyped it I'd expected the great fire to play a much bigger role. But it was still a more exciting episode than 10x01, so that was good. I'm losing count of how many times William and Julia have saved each others lives, they really are the others saviour. I'm glad William was able to make Julia see that she had no choice but to kill Eva. She a!most died for that misplaced guilt. It was lovely to see the content and playful W/J back by the end of the episode. Though it's inevitable their dream house will be lots of trouble.
It was great to see a more mature side to Higgins in this episode. I was so proud of him trying to do the right thing, even if he was mistaken.
I still can't find it realistic that Rebecca could possibly be qualified enough to be acting as coroner at murder scenes. That is the writers using poetic license and I hope it doesn't mean Julia is no longer coroner, that's were she belongs and is most needed on the show.
George is bound to lose his savings in that garage.
Overall, this was a good episode and the resolution to the killings wasn't completely obvious, except it being Bishop doing the actual murders. Nice acting from Alice and her mother. Both are talented actresses.

I didn't get a chance to break out the absinthe and crumpets. I have things to do for the next couple of nights, and it will probably be the weekend before I can catch up. Where did the time go?

For what it is worth, being able to watch both parts one after the other may be a good thing, since most of part 1 was spent setting up the story line and part 2 was the action. The fire starts right at the end of part 1........enjoy......

Perhaps we have entirely different ideas of anger, because I don't think of her as being angry at all, just frustrated at times.

It's not characters in general, I just find you seem to write Julia angry a lot in your fanfics. I read and enjoy all of them despite that.

Did anyone else catch the Pink's detective agency building sign?

Few more not really that indepth thoughts about this episode -
Williams face when Lady Atherly and the Strongs appeared at the other side of the door with alcohol and tons of excitement!
My my my that was a quick wedding! What did they do go to the courthouse that next day? damn talk about not wasting time!
Rodney Strong I thought was a bit of a gullible wuss, but alas he redeemed himself with a well-swung travelling bag!
I pretty much choked on my popcorn nearer the end of the episode when Julia said
"...What man would allow you to marry another if he truly loved you?" *coughcoughYourHusbundcoughcough*
Higgins walking face first into the door pretty much made my evening. Especially as it was preceeded by
"Why am I arresting you?" "Because I;m a scounderal and a coward" "You have been for years, why now?"
