Season One Episode One: Power
Episode Synopsis: In 1895 Toronto City Council are considering changing it's electical power supply from direct current to alternating current. Daniel Pratt, the owner of Toronto Electric and Light, has been demonstrating the dangers of alternating current by electocuting dogs. Alice Howard (Miss Toronto Electric and Light) is electrocuted at the demonstration that Detective William Murdoch and Doctor Julia Ogden attend. Assisted by Julia and Nikola Tesla, Murdoch investigates the case while Constable George Crabtree believes that the animal right activists were involved.

Season One Episode Two: Glass Ceiling
Episode Synopsis: The body of Percy Pollack is delivered to Station No. 4 in a truck with a note addressed to Inspector Brackenreid. Brackenreid believes he may be the next victim. Murdoch uses scienctific techniques to determine the cause of death while Brackenreid uses good old fashioned police work to solve the case. The Cheif Constable realises Murdoch's potential and recommends to him that he would be a good candidate for the Inspectors position at Station No. 3.

Season One Episode Three: The Knockdown
Episode Synopsis: Amos Robinson, who is a professional boxer, is shot at close range. Murdoch is having to solve the murder and clear Fannie Robinson, Amos's wife, of the murder. The blood patterns convinced Murdoch that Fannie was innocent so he looks to those who were present during the fight and he finds several suspects. The fight earlier that night had been rigged for Amos loose and his contract was about to be sold so both the buyers and the sellers would lose money.

Season One Episode Four: Elementary, My Dear Murdoch
Episode Synopsis: Detective Murdoch attends a seance hosted by Miss Sarah Pensall, here he is told the location of a recently murdered young woman. The body of Iris Winston, a member of the Toronto Paranormal Society, is found exactly where Sarah Pensall said it would be. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes Detective novels, assists Murdoch in his investigation while he is in Toronto to make a speech on spiritualism. Murdoch believes that Mediums are charlatans but his beliefs are shaken somewhat when Miss Pensall claims to have a message from his fiancée, who dies from consumption over a year ago.

Season One Episode Five: 'Til Death Do Us Part
Episode Synopsis: Wendell Merrick was killed in the church office on his wedding day. Murdoch learns that Wendell was to wed Eunice McGinty. The wedding was a sham, after the autopsy Murdoch learns that Merrick was a homosexual and his marriage would inherit his half of his father's estate. The obvious conclusion would be that Merrick's lover killed him in a fit of jealousy but when his lover commits suicide Murdoch suspects that there's an alterier motive.

Season One Episode Six: Let Loose the Dogs
Episode Synopsis: Detective Murdoch ends up investigating his own father, Harry Murdoch, when the body of John Delaney is found not long after the two had argued at the pub. Harry is a drunkard and there is no love lost between the two. He believes his father was responsible to his mother's death. Murdoch is helped by an idiot savant, during his investigation, who is fixated on time. With this, Murdoch builds an accurate timeline of the events, identifying an anomaly that leads to the killer.

Season One Episode Seven: Body Double
Episode Synopsis: The body of a man falls through the ceiling of the Grand Theatre on to the stage during a performance of Macbeth. Dental records were used to identify the victim. The body was that of Virgil Smart. He has died a year ago but they come across a problem when they dig up his grave and find a body. Detective Murdoch suggests that Doctor Ogden try using facial reconstruction to identify the unknown male. Murdoch and Crabtree find a hidden room in Smart's house which they believe to be the site of the murder.

Season One Episode Eight: Still Waters
Episode Synopsis: The death of Richard Hartley is investigated by Detective Murdoch and Doctor Ogden. He was a member of the men's eight rowing team at the King's Rowing Club. Murdoch learns that he had argued with his coach, Hamilton Kane. To complicate things, the Hartley's are a prestigous Toronto family. With the aid of a new lie-detecting device and analyzing the content of his lungs provides Murdoch with the clues that he needs to solve the case.

Season One Episode Nine: Belly Speaker
Episode Synopsis: The murder of Rod Grimesby is investigated by Detective Murdoch. What they find at the crime scene is his son Harcourt Grimesby, a ventriloquist who does most of his talking through his puppet, Mycroft. Murdoch is once again joined by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who has returned to Toronto to write a new novel based on Murdoch's techniques. He also has a personal reason for returning.

Season One Episode Ten: Child's Play
Episode Synopsis: The murder of Howard Rookwood is investigated by the police. He's a well known Toronto industrialist and philanthropist who was struck on the head. Howard was a was an active supporter of a house that specialised in relocating underprivileged children from England to Canada, called Baker House. Both Detective Murdoch and Doctor Ogden conclude that a child or children must have been involved. The truth however is far more sinister.

Season One Episode Eleven: Bad Medicine
Episode Synopsis: The murder of Doctor Francis Grout is investigated by Detective Murdoch, he was killed by a hooded and robed figure with a crossbow. Francis worked at the Greyson Institute for the mind. The institute specialises in researching brain functions and those who have special skills. The police must find the connection as the murders continue. Miss Pensell tells Murdoch that she has seen the murders in a vision but can't identify the suspect. She also identifies his next victim.

Season One Episode Twelve: The Prince and the Rebel
Episode Synopsis: Prince Alfred, Queen Victoria's grandson, visits Toronto. Detective Murdoch and Constable Crabtree are put in charge of security. When the police find a dead girl in the park, her tattoos reveal that she may have been a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and there may in fact be a plot against the Prince. Murdoch also runs into to an old friend from their days at the seminary who may, or may not, have Republican sympathies.

Season One Episode Thirteen: The Annoying Red Planet
Episode Synopsis: The murder of Henri Gaston is investigated by Murdoch and Crabtree, he was found lying in a tall tree. Gaston was an avid astronomer with a particular fascination with Mars. Constable Crabtree began to think that Martians were involved. What they finally stumble upon is completely alien to them.

Season Two Episode One: Mild, Mild West
Episode Synopsis: While attending Buffalo Bill's extravaganza Detective Murdoch, Inspector Brackenreid, Constable Crabtree and Doctor Ogden witness a murder. One legendary wild west gunman shoots another who catches bullets in his teeth. It's determined by Det. Murdoch that he was shot by somebody with a rifle. As another member of the team is killed Murdoch looks into their past to try and solve the crime. Brackenreid promises to give up drink when Mrs. Brackenreid joins the temperance league. This goes out of the window when he meets Annie Oakley.
