I hope the inventor that is killed isn't James Pendrick. Thoughts?

I didn't know one would die. I hope it's not Pendrick. He's a great character. I noticed Margaret will be back in this one, too. I did notice a dentist will be involved in the plot. I know one episode in S5 will deal with the negative side of medicine; surgeons taking their authority too far. But I can't remember which episode(s) that will be in. There used to be synopses up on imdb for all the S5 episodes but some were taken down (starting with this one).

Oh dear and Alibi usually has the episode guide up before the season starts but they've still got S4 up. I'm interested to see how they will work Alexander Graham Bell into the story

I like Pendrick too but we saw him already with the electric car this season. Surely he cant re appear so fast!!!He is a great character , I must say. Is Julia in the episode at all at some point for a continuity point of view otherwise he wouldnt make sense after what just happened in the last episode like her helping William behind everyone's else back and no one else knowing about it. Surely, William and her must have a scene discussing matter at some point, I hope so anyway!!! Any spoilers anywhere??!!! and who is Margaret again?

Pendrick is supposed to be in 2 episodes in S5. This is the one that would make sense given the subject. Margaret is Thomas' wife/Mrs. Brackenreid. I don't believe Julia is in this one.

It would make sense for Pendrick to be in this episode but I hope he's not the one that gets killed!

It was a entertaining episode. No Pendrick in that episode. but Murdoch seemed a very happy man start from the beginning. His eyes were wide opened when he was visiting the convention for new technology. I laughed when George was also there exposing Murdoch's lie detector at the convention and the question he asked that poor man to see if he was lying?! hummm! Loved the Thomas and his wife scenes. Thomas refusing to go to the dentist and the wife coming to the station saying that she would take his hand and take him there like a child after work. Hahahaha. Although Julia was not there at all, there were so many funny comments in that episode that it didnt matter too much I suppose! and all the inventions that we saw at the conventions were great, No wonder William was mesmerized by all this. I suppose it was a great episode to show aftere Anna's disappearance to make Murdoch forget a little about all drastic events which happened in stroll on the wild side. I think it was a episode to show Murdoch having a bit of a good time dealing with inventions because he is a bit of an inventor himself. I didnt think I would have liked it but I really liked that episode. I am glad it was a light hearted episode and a funny one except for the man who died obviously. Great fun to watch. I hope Julia will b back next week though!because I dont think I would like to see too many episodes without her in it. I like her story too although its a very serious one but I hope the writers are gonna develop it properly. Anyway, I wonder what she has been up too during that episode. Glad William is enjoying himself a bit. Julia is probably not enjoying herself but we will find out soon I hope.

I haven't been able to see it yet because I share a TV with 3 other people. I record it and will watch it tonight probably. I'm in bed sick today, too. I'm surprised Pendrick wasn't in this one. I wonder if the person who saw filming and said he would be in 2 episodes was mistaken. Maybe it will only be the one. I'm looking forward to it though. Julia will be in the one after next. I'm not sure what next weeks is about really.

I think u will like it Hannikan. Murdoch is happy and has a funny smile on his face most of time. Recover and enjoy. U will smile at many scenes, perhaps laugh too. I am a bit upset that Julia is not in next week episode. Do u think its perhaps because Helen Joy was not available for a while? I find it a bit strange because she is certainly a main character in the series. I hate it when producers take away one of the main lead characters for so many episodes. I saw it happening in the x-files and Stargate SG1 when David Duchovny and Richard Dean Anderson were not available. Its amazing actually to see how fast William has recovered from Anna leaving for good and how upset he was when Julia only moved to Buffalo. He knows he cant' see Anna anymore and he didnt shed a tear and he knew he could go and see Julia in Buffalo and it was like he was crushed. It says it all, William didnt love Anna , I reckon. He was fond of her and wanted to help her because he knew her . Hopefully some big moments between William and Julia will b coming up, even only on a professionnal level for a few episodes, i would b happy with that. I think the boy is Murdoch himself as a 11 year old boy. Thank u for the link.

It can't be William as a boy though because his father's name isn't William, it's Harry. William is the first William Murdoch in the family I think.

For those who are fans of Sue Thomas FBEye, this had a lot of elements of sign language and innovations for the deaf. I always seem to catch STFBE in the middle and want to watch from the beginning. I hope it will start over at some point either on Alibi or on the U.S. channel that was airing it (TBS maybe?). Alexander Graham Bell did work with the deaf: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Graham_Bell#Work_with_the_deaf Anyway, it was a great episode. So many great things about it with the inventions. And the twist with who did it. I thought it would be Bell from the beginning. It looks like he'll be back for another episode: Murdoch in Toyland. The fact that it was suicide in the end was very interesting. I wonder if there will be more about that. The concept of "right to die" would be a moral dilemma for William, one would think. It was a little strange that Pendrick wasn't in it but I guess with his last project bankrupting him, he couldn't participate. George was funny with the clapper. And we got some "computer hacking" going on, too. I loved the I-mail machine. And the tabletop waiter that we now call a Lazy Susan (not sure why). Eaton's was a real dept store and very large. It was like the Target of its day. It was L.M. Montgomery's favorite store in Toronto.

Glad u liked it. I was great. I liked the idea that Murdoch thought they all did it (the murder of course). And I liked the fact that it was only a suicide at the end. I didnt want them all to be hung to b honest because they are all so valuable people, very intelligent and it would have been a waste of talent for the future. Your "right to die" idea is interesting but he did try to frame all the others while doing it. How horrible! At least they all said and recognize he was a genius at the end and perhaps, this is only what the dead man wanted, to b recognized from other inventors!!!

I thought it was brilliantly done! The way George got Higgins to go away from the dentist and then making the Inspector stay in the dentist! It's a shame Julia wasn't in it although now I'm beginning to think that it's nice to think about something else other than just W/J all the time. I was surprised that Pendrick wasn't in it too! We'll have to wait and see when he crops up again
