I think they've already done that. Which is why he doesn't seem to care that Julia's willing to lie about the marriage being consummated/kissing her all over the place. I think the writers had to go the annulment route because they dug themselves into a corner and short of murdering Darcy, or Murdoch completely revoking his religion, they had to do it this way so that Murdoch would be free to marry her (Catholics don't believe in divorce). But I have a feeling that it won't be so simple and indeed, if that's it for Darcy I will be quite shocked and disappointed. (Don't get me started on how unbelievable it was that he agreed to the annulment in the first place). Yup. But it was classic MM. It's always a bit hoakie so I loved it for that reason. Haha! Good point! Um, maybe he saw him well enough before they took off? He had real good eyesight to get so close to shooting them over and over and over again. ;D What bothered me was how Myers et al just magically appeared out of nowhere only seconds after they crash landed! They couldn't possibly have known exactly where to be beforehand! Like I said before, I doubt it's going to be quite so simple. That would be a good idea for a storyline but they've done that one before. I.e. S4 finale. I think if Darcy is fated to die, it will be from a contagious disease of some sort that he picks up from the hospital.

PedanticPedestrian, thank you so much for teaching me, I'll do that next time!!! CBCMurdoch on twitter has confirmed that Lachlan Murdoch (Higgins) will indeed be in episodes in the 6th season, that he is not listed on IMDb can be normal, they don't have all the episodes of the season yet so I wouldn't rely on this site too much for complete accuracy!! OMG I'm so glad to hear that! Higgins is one of my fave reccuring characters. TY so much for posting the good news!

Completely agree! I was hoping that just this once Murdoch would have the sense NOT to suspect him of wrongdoing and not have the universe plotting against him. But I understand why he has to get the raw deal. If the show is to continue to be fairly historically accurate, they can't have Pendrick creating things years before they actually were. So all of his inventions get destroyed or the projects have to be cancelled for that reason. And also, there would be no point to him being on the show if he wasn't involved in a murder investigation.

Yeah I realized I might have jumped the gun (again) with the Higgins thing so then I asked CBC if he was coming back and that would be the tweet you saw. But I couldn't get on here earlier cuz my internet was down and so you stole my thunder. That was exactly my intention !!!!

Re: Pendrick
I really like Pendrick. I'm just hoping that the writers are not going to make him a bitter man and actually turn him into a "baddie" later on in the series. I've noticed that the writers have a habit of throwing in twists along the way.

Oh that would be the worst! I really hope they don't do that either.

YAY HIGGINZ!!!
Pendrick is a fascinating character. You want to like him, and you feel sorry for him. You feel like Pendrick and Murdoch would be really great friends if things actually worked out properly. They're both scientists and inventors, and they obviously appreciate each others skills and intellects.

It seems more likely to me that he will become more of an ally to Murdoch in the coming episodes he's in. They are much less antagonistic toward each other than they used to be. Murdoch rescued him in this episode. I have a feeling the next time he appears it will be to aid the constabulary in some way. Probably he will create some new technology that William realizes will be the only way to solve the crime he's faced with.

Hi everyone. I can't wait to see that episode in the UK soon. Not sure of the date. Anyone knows! According to what I read so far, it looks like a decent episode. I am sure I will enjoy it and in a way, I am glad that the Darcy storyline with Julia is not finished because it will add some spice to the William/Julia storyline too. May be Darcy is gonna get real angry, could become a bit mad because so jealous that Julia loves William and wants to marry him. The Darcy angst could be mostly off screen of course but Julia could report on screen. Lol . Anyway, can't wait to also watch the case in that 1st episode, season 6 and roll on last season. Hope not !! Would be nice to have a season 7 too.

Finally get to watch another episode 1. George and space pigs. That's enough for great episode already. 2. It was always so clear that annulment was never gonna work out. Nothing is that easy on this show. 3. I will never tire of the station house's annoyance with Meyers. 4. I wasn't very into the Inspector's side plot in this. Ones that don't relate to the murder don't usually thrill me much. 5. William flying the Arrow is just great! I love it so very much every time. However, I am very curious as to how William didn't manage to lose his hat in all of that.
