I think it is about time the dominoes were put away and they get down to the real game. Haha! Well this is William & Julia we're talking about. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to draw out the tension even more....

I asked on twitter to CBCmurdoch when this boat episode is airing, whether it was early or later in the season, and their answer was "very early". Premiere?! That's what I'm thinking. Also, more dominoes! Yay Yes, BR says in his clip that this is episode 1

What I have been able to deduct so far about the season opener... Brackenried, William and Julia are on the ship. The ship sinks. The is pre-Titanic, so more than likely there are not enough lifeboats (makes for a better story anyway).
My question. Will Julia get on the women and children lifeboat and save her life, but leave William? Or will she risk her life by staying with him? Pre "Murdoch Trap" I would have said the later. She proved it in Cloud of Doom when she stayed with him knowing they may both die from the poison gas. Since then though, she came very close to death, within seconds, in The Murdoch Trap. Now that she has faced her humanity once, will she be willing to come that close to death again? Hmmmmm. I wonder.....

This sounds like a sort lakeside cruise/dinner/lunch/party thing. Not on the open ocean. That being the case, the ship is unlikely to HAVE lifeboats. It might have life-buoys/rings/life-preservers, though.

I thought I heard that during the CBC panel someone said that there would be an episode about a big ship near Newfoundland... I assumed that this would be the episode in question.
Even if is not the case, the Great Lakes are pretty darn big... Many ships have sunk and many people have drowned.....

Julia wouldn't leave Murdoch. I can see her telling him she'll get off the ship safely in some way, and then sneaking back onto the boat to help him; giving her seat to a child or something.
Only Brax, Murdoch, and Julia on the boat? What about George? I'd be pretty annoyed if he wasn't in the premiere much....

So far we haven't seen any photos of George on the ship, but that doesn't mean he won't be. The premise is that Thomas and William will be called to the ship because there is a threat/plot against the owners of it. So that is why they are there. We don't yet know why Julia is there. It is supposed to be the ship's maiden voyage so perhaps she just tags along for that. George and Emily may not be called to the ship if there is no murder. The ship going down would, of course, be different. Julia will presumably be called on to help the injured and possibly dying when that happens. So my assumption is that she and William may get separated while she's doing that and he's trying to help others or she just can't find him. I would imagine her frantically looking for him. I don't think they're going to recreate the giving up the plank of wood scene from Titanic. I certainly hope not, because that would be terribly cheesy. great pictures many thanks the opener sounds great i think the new foundland episode is later in the season (just hope that we don't have any reference or images of the titanic) someone mentioned on here about william murdoch of the titanic he was from my home town and the producers of the titanic movie had to pay compansion to his family for what they said in the film (gun to his head it didn't happen) any way when i was little my poppy used to always tell me limericks and has where talking about a large ship it reminded me of one they was a old lady from china who went on board a sealiner she slip on the deck and twisted her neck and now she can see right behind her just brought back a few memories

The precise details escape me, but there's a story that when the Titanic sank, a husband, his wife, their baby boy and their nanny were onboard.
The nanny and the baby got into a lifeboat without telling the parents, and the boat was lowered over the side of the ship.
The parents drowned trying to find their baby which was already safely away.
I sure hope they don't try and recreate this for this episode. Or it's gonna be damn boring.
"Where were you!?" "I was looking for you! Where were you!?" "I was looking for YOU!" "OH NO!!! HALPZ!!!!!!"

I'm pretty sure they won't recreate the plank of wood scene, because Julia wouldn't take it. She'd give it to a child or something.
