There's a picture on twitter that @mmfpofficial posted with Jack and Rose at the tip of the Titanic and it said, "can this please be in the premiere?" And CBCMurdoch said "Working on it!" O.O
Not sure if that is a joke or not.
This is going to be an intense first episode.
Also not sure if anyone heard but there's going to be a Murdoch Challenge that starts July 14 and goes until September 29, basically it's watching all the Murdoch Mysteries episodes in a row for 78 days straight. Of course, you don't have to watch all 78 but you can join in when its convenient. It also promotes buying the Murdoch DVDs. Just thought I'd let you guys know. .

I would've bought the Murdoch DVDs by now, if they weren't so damn expensive. The curse of living in Australia...

I proudly have all seven series of modern Doctor Who on DVD. And they're fairly pricy. xD
But I don't have any MM DVDS. I record them an store them on my PVR.

It would be interesting if Julia took in a child whose parents drowned in the shipwreck. Then once she and William married they could adopt the child.

That would be an interesting twist.
I was thinking that William would have to rescue Julia as the ship sank, making a third time he had to save her life (after being buried alive, and almost hanging). The two of them might then decide that the "third time's the charm", and that they need to get their act together and get married!

Does Julia have to get rescued again? She's perfectly capable of looking after herself. It's time she saved William, in my opinion.

Perhaps they can rescue each other? I really was concerned less with who was saving whom than with the idea that they've had to face the prospect of death a little too closely.

William is the leading man; not the 'hero of the show". I'd hate for Murdoch to slip into the cliche 'the strong man saves his beautiful damsel in distress' all the time. Julia's a modern, smart, strong, and capable woman. I hope they don't keep pulling the 'Murdoch saves her from death' out of their hats. Murdoch has proved his loyalty and love and almost given his life for her in the s6 finale; I would really, really like for Julia to do the same. They are equals, and then maybe all of the Julia haters will stop going on and on about how she's selfish and doesn't deserve him.

I totally agree on the "William saves Julia" plot line. We saw it in Murdoch in Toyland, the Ghost of Queen's Park and the Murdoch Trap. Enough.. Going to the same well all the time can get tiresome. I especially did not like the "save Julia" scene in The Ghost of Queen's Park. Julia looked line a silent movie Lilian Gish in that scene. This was her workplace. You would think she would know how to escape... I would like to see the return of "fight back" Julia like we saw in Snakes and Ladders and The Hangman. I also think that Julia must be a basket case by now. She nearly lost her life three times in a year.
Another plot line that is getting tiresome is James Giles. If he gets brought back again, they better make it interesting. Something like Julia kills him in cold blood and William covers it up.

You have the episodes all mixed up; I think you mean Victoria's Cross, not The Ghost of Queen's Park. I also have to disagree. Julia smashed a glass on the ugly nurse's head, thus saving 'paralyzed' girl. She also motivated her to move. Yes, it was unlikely she could get locked out of her own workplace, but wasn't it also unlikely that Murdoch found them just in time, being as they ran through the halls? Also, there was the shovel-smashing in Murdoch Au Natural. Just that she isn't a head-case proves how strong she is. I don't take the same view as you; I don't yet see her as a damsel in distress. I don't think she's changed all that much, save some maturing. I just want her to prove she'd give her life to Murdoch as well, so they can progress in their relationship.

I also disagree on the 'Julia kills Gillies in cold blood' thing. That's just not Julia. I'm all for her killing him to save William, or in self-defense:

That happened in "Snakes and Ladders".
James Gilles was hanged already, so I doubt that he'll be coming back.
What I am desperate that they do NOT bring back is the same tired James Pendrick line.
Something weird happens. Pendrick is involved. Pendrick is suspected. Pendrick is innocent. Pendrick is ruined anyway. Pendrick stars again in the next episode.
It's getting extremely repetitive.

I actually like James Pendrick; I just wish he and Murdoch could get along. I also didn't like how quickly he forgave Murdoch way back in s3- I'd have been thoroughly ticked off after everything Murdoch had done.
We don't know for sure that Gillies was hanged-they left it wide open for him to return. I hate him (not as a character, he plays a good role in the series, but as a person)
