Lol you guys. It was the same hideous dress! Which is really funny/strange because William never saw her in it! So I've always taken it to mean that he broke into her place when she was in Vienna and rifled through her things because he missed her so much and found the dress. After the S7 finale, we all know he's capable of it. xD Or there was a picture...but it's less fun to think that. Or more likely this is a case of the costume department being on a budget and just recycling for that reason. I must have been so blinded by the hideousness of the dress that I missed it being the same one! Definitely a function of recylcling. Have you ever caught extras wearing previously used dresses? The one that stands out most for me is Beth Tipton's dress from "Murdoch.com" is seen strolling the deck several times in "Murdoch Ahoy". Have you perused our bridal suggestions in the "Julia's bridal shop" thread?

Have you ever caught extras wearing previously used dresses? I was amused that Julia managed to secure Ms. Pensell's hat before she went to Prague. Perhaps she was trying to look like Ms. Pensell after thinking that William was taken with her.

I love how you say things so eloquently with pics. Where do you find them all?

I don't have much of an eye for fashion. Just silly faces by Yannick and Jonny. I swear she changed her hair colour in an effort to try and be more attractive to William. Not sure why she thought he'd like that colour though seeing as his fiance was dark haired. It was only later that he started being interested in a bunch of blondes. Enid, Sally, Anna...that's probably it actually. Apparently she could see into the future. Must have been Ms. Pensell's 'psychic' hat.

I mainly run to Grande Caps because I can find stuff really fast there: period.grande-caps.net/gallery/index.php?cat=111This site is kept by RandomKiwiBirds from this forum. wildhorsesannie also started a screencaps project, focused on characters other than William. I still need to explore that one, but I haven't yet because I was already using Grande Caps. s1172.photobucket.com/user/wildhorseannie1/library/Fanart?sort=3&page=1The link is to her fan art, but she also has a screen caps collection building there. Familiarity with the episodes in general also allows me to hone in on the right picture fairly quickly. XD

While normally I'm not a fan of blondes, I think it looks really good on Julia, though. For me the "fashion plates" are part of the entertainment experience of a period piece, so I love it when Julia looks like she just stepped out of Godey's Ladies Book.

I can't believe I never thought of that! That makes perfect sense actually cuz Ruby was a 'notorious' woman. How do you say that? Godie or Goodie? The first one sounds funny.

Hmm, I've always pronounced it like Go, but now I'm not sure. I'm sure Julia fantasizes about being notorious and riding elephants with maharajas, too. She sacrificed a lot more to become a doctor than Ruby had to to become a writer. I'll bet she'll enjoy playing "notorious woman" for William!

Does anybody else think that their marriage will loosen both of them up considerably? That could be the new shipper angle so snacky doesn't have to worry so much about the death knell for the show.

If I'm being completely honest I found them kind of dull in S3. But they weren't getting any (I don't think so anyway) so I think this time would be different. I expect that after they get some finally there will be a lot of teasing and laughing. But only outside of the work environment or else it would be strange.

I look forward to some fun shenanigans as Julia tries to keep the fun in the marriage and William realizes he has to do some work to cultivate it.

I agree: I expected a lot more in the way of elaborate ruses to disguise hot and heavy rendezvous (closer to Season 7) while William and Julia maintained a fragile veneer propriety at Station House 4. I agreed with Ruby about the "eternal courtship", and I could see why Julia was getting worried about ending up as an Old Maid. William was taking far too much for granted. One has to wonder what was going on with William during this time. They weren't getting any younger. He'd almost lost Julia once. What was he dragging things out for? Was his life truly so busy that he "just forgot"?
