About the dress: well I hope they put her in something classy, and that all the stuff we're seeing is teasers. Call me hopelessly optimistic. I agree with you -you hopelessly optimistic! - I want to see Julia wearing an elegant wedding dress and having a sophisticated hairdo -I think it's also very important - but it seems to be complicated and after seeing some pictures, I would say that this is not a good start.

I think the writers want us to at least have the question in our minds. More fodder for the 40 year old virgin debate. I am inclined to think of William as not a virgin, but as a man of limited sexual experience who has a lot to learn. About the dress: well I hope they put her in something classy, and that all the stuff we're seeing is teasers. Call me hopelessly optimistic. Regarding William's relationship with Anna: I remember how disappointed he looked when he found out she was engaged. So I think he definitely regarded her as a romantic possibility. And he did a did a double-take after the Inspector's "cats sleeping with dogs" line hahahaha. I agree the question is supposed to remain open. I like the theory that William is of "limited experience" of his own choosing. But "limited experience" doesn't mean inept, either. William is a man of wide reading, careful observation, and consideration. Oh, and vivid imagination. I'm sure those "limited experiences" have been worth the wait. I'm trying to be optimistic about the dress, too. The hope I'm clinging to, because of what Bill Brioux said about the dream sequence, is that there is some sort of series of dream sequences about what will go wrong with the wedding.

If I may talk about the Stroll on the Wild eps.: I just watched them and yes I did certainly notice that William and Anna are quite cosy at dinner. The scene ends with a kiss and cuts to the next morning as William is late for work. He is very unhappy at the end, when she has to leave after the fake death scene. He was supposed to be grieving when the Black Hand guy was around but he continued to look stricken as he said his good byes. Does this mean that he and Anna did lots more than kiss? I think the writers want us to at least have the question in our minds. More fodder for the 40 year old virgin debate. I am inclined to think of William as not a virgin, but as a man of limited sexual experience who has a lot to learn. The writers of MURDOCH MYSTERIES suggested some scripts as an obstacle to the wedding of Julia and William; the first is Anna. www.facebook.com/MurdochOnCBC/photos/pb.278265358918600.-2207520000.1405263729./647509045327561/?type=1&theater-. Julia VS Anna: However she is a better rival than Enid -IMHO-, Anna has NO CHANCE and she was fully aware of it since she first met William in BRISTOL. (I also think that Anna couldn't fully accept to be in love with a man who loves with another woman, she respects herself . I liked this character.). William and Julia were a couple in "The MURDOCH Identity" episode:Yes, William was more relaxed with Anna, it could be explained by: - he was amnesic. He felt himself like another man; he was "Harry". - he met Anna outside his professional environment. - Anna is a pretty woman; she's friendly and pleasant and a far from timid young woman. - he was being chased by two men who wanted to kill him so he could have deduced that he came from the urban slums where the propriety was surely not his first concern. Moreover he didn't wear his jacket and his tie and he seemed to lost his hat too -which are the elements of a dress code- so he totally ignored -again!- the social class where he came from. BUT: - When William was kissing Anna, he stopped and he couldn't go further because he remembered Julia; he remembered her while he was amnesic and before remembering his true identity/who he was; a proof of his deep love -and respect- for her. - At the end, Anna couldn't deny that Harry was a little bit torn but William was eager to return to TORONTO and she said that admired his loyalty. - Despite the exceptional circumstances, he felt guilty of unfaithfulness. He was so ashamed of his little adventure than he hid it. Julia was engaged to Darcy in "The Black Hand" episode:- Anna cared for William's happiness and she seemed admit that he could be happy with Julia only and she referred to the way William spoke of Julia in BRISTOL, Anna had then the feeling they were destinated for each other. - Anna admitted to Julia that she was in love but she added that his heart belonged to another. - William is still in love with Julia. - At the end, William refused to see Anna again in order to protect their lives but I think he really meant to say goodbye to her good once for all. So -again!- Anna remained lucid about her love for William. Julia was married to Darcy in the "Stroll on the Wild Side" episode:Yes, William had dinner with Anna Fulford and they kissed. The very next day, Inspector BRACKENREID noticed that the very ponctual detective was late for the first time since he knew him. A way to tend us to think he had a "very good evening/night with a woman". BUT: - When Anna asked George what or rather who kept William back in TORONTO, we all knew the answer is Julia. - William can't stop loving Julia. - Anna didn't menage to convince William to leave TORONTO with her. We can't deny that William is attracted by Anna and we don't really know how William feels about her. But it would appear in any case that the love he feels for Julia is stronger than everything else. That's why it could be interesting to see how Julia could behave if she was jealous and she felt threatened/challenged by Anna and how she could make Anna understand that William belongs to her. We know they are both in love with William so they could fight for him. Of course, William wouldn't notice anything or rather he would notice that they both give more attention to him but he wouldn't understand the reason why. Indeed he is so in love with Julia than it would be unthinkable for him that another woman could be interested by him. It also could be interesting to see how Julia could prove that she still deserves the love of William after all the pain she put him through. I saw that on Facebook: nasty writers trying to get us all riled up! As if this Fanship needs to get more crazy! Personally I think Anna has too much respect for William to try to stop his wedding. Unless she undergoes a serious personality change she would put his happiness ahead of hers and realize that Julia is the one and only for him. A terrible thought just occurred to me though: what if she got pregnant with his child during the Stroll on the Wild duo? Yikes!

Thank you for these two pictures! They are not at all like the gown I proposed - but there should be a full slate of suggestions! They are also not like the "Worth gowns" I looked up when you first mentioned them. I'm glad to get an exact visual! My only question is whether these are right for Julia's "willowy" and rather slight figure...? Regarding the way William behaves in Canada, I would give several reasons: 1) He's a fish out of water: a poor Catholic - very intelligent, but without a college education: he's trying to "fake it until he makes it" into the Victorian/Edwardian middle class. 2) He might have got it on with girls in/below his own class: but then again he might not have, because taking on responsibility for a child (which William would have done) might have ruined his professional chances. Maybe William just didn't want to get anyone pregnant yet. Anyway, when he got to Julia, she was of a much high class, so she was a different story. Also he worked with her, and she was obviously concerned about being treated with professional respect, so that complicated matters. 3) William seems to have some complex where he waits for women to make the first move/issue the invite. As he attempted to climb into the middle class, I think he faced more instances of social embarrassment/awkwardness, and he retreated more and more into his already introverted tendencies. Solving cases was rewarding him, socializing was not. I think we've seen that whenever a woman issues an invitation, William comes out of his shell with flying colors, so to speak.

First, thanks for showing me this came from something the writers posted on Facebook. I found it on Tumblr, and I thought it was something a random fan came up with. Those cruel writers, lol! But I also get sort of mad at the fans for rising to the bait and declaring that they will quit watching the show unless the writers do exactly as they command. We, as fans, are not in charge of how Murdoch Mysteries is written. Sure we can suggest how we'd like things to go, but in the end we aren't the creators or the writers: we're the consumers. We can turn the show off at any time, but don't mistake that power for being the boss of the creators/writers. Moreover, no matter what, Murdoch Mysteries needs our support. This show held out on a low budget on a dinky channel for four years. The actors also stuck with it. Now even on CBC where Murdoch Mysteries is doing so well, things are still precarious because of the disastrous budget cuts at CBC. At any time someone crucial to the production of MM could just get pissed at the whole situation and walk away. This is the time to stand behind the show we love and *trust the writers to come up with something good*. Frankly it makes me want to toss my cookies whenever someone starts threatening to stop watching a show, or worse, get all their friends to stop watching a show, unless they can control what happens next. Let the writers do their job!!! It might turn out to be good even if it wasn't the way you were trying to control it to be.... OMG, totally forgot about the hat angle in my last reply on the Anna situation. Yes, of course he did not have the same inhibitions without his hat. Regarding William's feelings toward Anna: he seemed extremely pleased to see her, and extremely disappointed that she was engaged at the start of The Black Hand. I think he was at least willing to try dating her once Julia was engaged, and he was supposed to be dating other women. Regarding Julia: I've long wondered about that epiphany she must have had in The Black Hand: the minute she discovered that William chose her over Anna, and that she was the love of his life, and not just someone he was mechanically "dating", as it must have sometimes appeared. From that moment on the Darcy wedding was ruined for her, but she couldn't get William to confirm his feelings, either. I do agree that it's Julia's turn to do some serious work on the relationship.

I've also been emoing over the pictures. But a Canadian reviewer mentioned something about one of the scenes being a "dream". I thought ALL of the scenes might be a dream! What if these are all Julia's dreams about what might go wrong with the wedding? Like a wheel rolling off the wedding carriage, tee hee. But the real wedding is/was filmed under wraps somewhere to be a fun surprise for us?

A terrible thought just occurred to me though: what if she got pregnant with his child during the Stroll on the Wild duo? Yikes! LOL - my eeevil theories have warped your subconscious! I've already been speculating on this very subject, since of course William would feel obliged to take responsibility for the child and would love the child no matter what the origin. Julia, at the same time, might actually be driven mad by the idea that another woman had given William a son while she cannot. Angst ahoy!!! CosmicCalvalcade thinks this will be too much of a soap opera, and the MM writers would flub it up. Someone (lovemondays? carco?) brought up the interesting idea of Etty having an older son by William that she never told William about. However perhaps something happens in Winnipeg that forces her to bring him to William's attention. Or perhaps she dies. Then perhaps this son is a con artist? Perhaps there's a question of whether he's William's son or not, but he's definitely trying to exploit his *maybe* relationship with William in order to get away with more.

I've got to agree with CosmicCalvalcade...to my mind, the idea of a William "love-child" out there somewhere just seems so over the top for "TV William". There can be more than enough angst and drama for one season in just having William and Julia adjust to married life after 7 years of "dancing". I know what I'm talking about, I've been through the "7 yrs together before marriage". You think nothing much is going to change between you but on some level, without being consciously aware of it, there is a difference in the roles each one plays in the relationship. Also I wonder, in Wiliam's head, will Darcy sort of haunt his marriage to Julia? While he's experiencing marriage for the first time ever with the love of his life, can he shake off the feeling he might have that everything he's experiencing will be a "been there, done that" situation for Julia? Will Wm. start to feel that Darcy is the third person in the marriage? And Julia, Emily and probably Margaret B are going a bit of the feminist route this season and that will also be threatening the men in their lives. While, the men may be facing more danger on the job.

While Julia will be haunted by whether another woman could have given William a child, William will be haunted by whether Darcy "aroused Julia's passions"...perhaps better than he does. The Kissing Bandit suggested William is worried a bit that he is "boring"! I can't wait to see those Women of Action! But the men in danger...?

A terrible thought just occurred to me though: what if she got pregnant with his child during the Stroll on the Wild duo? Yikes! You have perfectly summarized what I've been thinking for a long time in two clear, concize sentences. THANK YOU! If Anna came back to TORONTO, she wouldn't come back to purposefully stop the wedding but just to see William, no matter the risks involved, because she loves him and she misses him. Indeed, the last time Anna saw William and Julia, he was a single man and she was married to Darcy. She has no way of knowing that William is now engaged and more importantly, he is engaged to Julia. Anna has certainly not bad intentions but Julia and William both agree to say that -I quote- women in love can be quite tenacious. About a possible comeback of Anna with a child: there is NO WAY! Je refuse! (If) -it depends on your own opinion- William is not a virgin, he remains a responsible man so: - he couldn't have slept with Anna because he was fully aware that she must leave the town sooner or later. Therefore he couldn't have taken the risk to get her pregnant without being sure to be able/present to face the consequences of his actions in case of an unexpected pregancy. OR - he could have used a precaution. (And this raises contradictions if he did because he is a detective and a practising Catholic and contraceptives are forbidden, legally and by the Church. However I will not go any further -you surely know what I mean- and I will focuse my attention on the fact that William is a responsible man). In "The Green Muse" episode, he said that he hadn't taken a prophylactic with him because he didn't think that he would have needed one. It suggests that he understands that making love is by no means anodyne. How very a modern man he is? Isn't he?

Ok, I'll give you the love-child 'haunting' by Julia since we seem to agree on the possibility that Darcy could haunt William in his marriage. Julia will just have to find a way to convince him otherwise but I'm sure she's up to the task...... Their Men in danger by way of gangs in Toronto, large factories can = big fires, possibly it will be a season of trains, planes and automobiles and not to leave out of the equation --- the women are getting fiesty.

You can certainly watch that vid. It's done in Lego by a 10 year old boy. It's adorable and no spoilers. Enjoy!
