Yes, the suit is a magical transformation. It fills up William's power meter and possibly involves magic powers, re: bullet dodging, perma-cooling/cleaning, teleprtation, etc.

Okay, I pressed for details tonight, and he can't elaborate-just that he doesn't think he is. (He also can't believe that this is a topic of debate amongst us either.) When I asked him if he and Anna slept together in SOTWS, he thinks that the show wanted to make you think they did, but he's not sure. As for MotK, he says drinking and whoring seem like something a man with a broken heart might do (think benders and one night stands today), and again, the writers plant the seed, but did he? Hubby's not so sure-but I think it hints at it heavily. No, it's not characteristically William, but the first 15 minutes as a whole aren't. I know Snacky says William's too cautious for that, and I agree, but this is not that William. People behave uncharacteristically in grief-and this is a grieving William here. Is it possible? I think so. Do I know for sure? No.

I'm definitely in agreement with you on Julia-not yet. But it's as if the writers wanted to plant doubt, or very subtly show that he wasn't. But we'll probably never know. And that's okay because it's more fun that way!

In it William meets an old friend from school, Eddie who owned the pub, and they get to talking about old times. When Eddie asks William if he wants a pint, William says no and that he is still on duty. Then Eddie says, "Right, your body's still the Lord's temple, eh Will?" That is one of the Bible verses that are/were used to argue for not committing any sexual sin in order to keep one's body a "pure" temple for the Lord. Sex between a husband and wife is the only pure form of sexual relations. William acts a little embarrassed at the remark. While this is all academic now, it is interesting.

I also take it to mean that, virgin or not, William was in fine shape on his wedding night. He he.

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but YB is still doing a fine job of portraying "satisfied married man at work". But it might be because he's not over-fatigued yet, and I think he's letting himself weigh around 5 lbs more. Plus I think they are putting on a ton of skin cream on him. But whatever YB and/or the production team are doing, the result is a good "married and bringing home the bacon" look. Is it just me, or does William look a little taller, too?

Just guessing here but I don't think it would be difficult for Yannick to portray 'satisfied married man at work'....

Forgive me reviving an old thread, but I'll throw out some points to consider for what they're worth: - At the risk of sounding like Bill Cliinton, it depends on what your definition of "virgin" is. Or to put it another way, where do you draw the line exactly? He may have indulged in a certain amount of heavy petting or foreplay one a few occasions (perhaps during his backstory engagement?) without crossing the vaginal rubicon.
- Despite the biblical business equating looking lustfully at a woman with actually having sex with her, it seems clear he can fantasize about women. Perhaps that's because he does "live inside [his] head" as Julia once observed. At least that would give him something to say in confession.
- He may know a thing or two about sex from reading up on the subject, and the knowledge informs his behaviour and reactions. While he has some Holmesian lacunae in his knowledge (he was unfamiliar with wedding customs, for example), I would expect him to have read up on the subject of sex, even if only to enhance his knowledge base for his job. Then the question becomes what books or other sources were available to him on the subject.
