Snacky and I have been endlessly discussing why Ovation has so far been unable to create a larger fan base for "The Artful Detective". I have finally figured out what the problem is. In an earlier post I said "All my contempt is for "The Artful Detective"  Here is Ovation's Artful Detective. YIKES!! This is what I think the name conjures in the minds of American's who might otherwise be interested in the genre.  There is also the one other matter. This pansy detective is running around without his HOMBURG!! He is powerless. No wonder Murdoch Mysteries can't build a fan base. I have channeled my inner Murdoch and solved the case. |

Aha! GIC and lovemondays! I have not checked. Did anyone guess?
I have seen some of the ads for The Artful Detective and they are awful. They are too slick and somewhat condescending. Snacky is right. Someone really dropped the ball.

Count me in! Ovation needs all the help they can get.
My first thought when I heard the name "The Artful Detective'" was that since it was on Ovation it was about art theft.
I just don't think Ovation is the best channel for MM.

My first thought when I heard the name "The Artful Detective'" was that since it was on Ovation it was about art theft. LOL, I think that would have been my first thought, too, if I saw the name of the show in a channel guide instead of just randomly surfing to it on TV. The changed name of that show is just wrong. Ovation needs to get that and do something about it. |

Several major cable carriers actually dropped Ovation right before they picked up MM for not having enough good content, so they know they are under the gun to make a success of what they've got.
