That's a great point about William having to meticulously plan his spontaneity-poor William! But, he wanted to make Julia laugh, which was so sweet!  That's what I think was hilarious, he's planning it for days because his jokes' deliveries and his comedic timing are non existent so he wants to make sure that this prank works like his inventions…to perfection…and one of the funny thing about comedy is the immediate reaction to a situation so seeing William mapping out his joke so carefully was hysterical to watch. The Gedna scene was hot! Beautifully shot, beautifully done. I liked it, and I remember when W/J used to have scenes like that. I guess Gedna's the new focus, and if it's hot like the final scene was tonight, I guess I'm okay with it. But, I miss hot William/Julia. I agree we need to have William & Julia in the same kind of scenes, they are very cute together especially playing jokes on each other but they can be very very steamy as well

Hmm, funny ep...but mostly because Murdoch found it all so unfunny. Interesting to learn that stand up comics were first called monologists. Makes sense though but harder to say. I should have seen the ending coming...I mean, I knew he wanted to prove to Julia that he could be funny too, but I didn't get it until right before it happened. The case was fairly intricate. I really had no idea who did it the whole time and it was a bit confusing even after they explained it. So I guess that means it was good? Gedna is officially a thing now. Probably going to be lots of moaning on FB about this. Anyway, it was basically what I expected it would be like. Nothing groundbreaking, but just good ol' fashioned fun....with tomatoes. Can't watch tonight and may not be able to watch tomorrow morning. May not be able to do much forum commenting either. William trying to prove he can be funny - lol, that's funny in itself!

Seems the inspector is on good terms with The Murdoch's so I guess Murdoch was unable to sway Julia's mind to go back into the race? Also, what was up with that awkward exchange between George and Emily? Did she finally learn that he's moved on or something? And Snacky will be devastated to learn that there was no angst whatsoever in this ep...well very minimal maybe on the Gedna front. Does this mean angst galore in the second half like a Shakespearean tragedy? Methinks so! 10% darker! 10% DARKER! Methinks 10% darker means the video will be dipped in sepia dye.

Maybe the hubris cycle of the Greek Tragedy is starting! It's coming~ Sorry, Snacky! No angst for you! The longer the wait, the more COLOSSAL THE ANGST-BURGER!!!

It was a cute ep, and I loved how determined William was to make Julia laugh, and I loved, loved, loved George the man. Was Julia especially sad (William needing to cheer her up) or was William just paranoid about not being funny?

I just remembered that Edna offered George tea in the pilot and then they proceeded to kiss. She asked him up for tea at night again, her son is not home, she's an experienced widow...all looks good for George...assuming he can fix the plumbing first that is. #Murdochsnottheonlyonegettingluckythisseason menwhocanfixthingsgetlucky

I just realized that William made that whoopee cushion himself! That's what he was working on when George came into his office! lol, such a worthy use of William's time.

Was Julia especially sad (William needing to cheer her up) or was William just paranoid about not being funny? William was paranoid/jealous that he told one of the jokes of the show to Julia and she didn't laugh. Yet, when they get to the show, she thinks it's hilarious! "It's how you tell the joke". For that moment on, William was scheming to make Julia laugh.

Lol yeah, George even says, "More rubber bands, sir?" And I guess he was stretching out the rubber beforehand or something when the inspector caught him. I half thought he was working out sex kinks. I guess I didn't figure it out earlier cuz it's such a crass thing for Murdoch to do. Turns out he still has the sense of humour of a six year old. Not unlike myself. The mystery for me is why all TV writers have a crass sense of humor. Re: William's strategy - I think he finally remembered how cheesy "morgue humor" was...
