I don't think Emily will be bi. Did you catch that bit about Emily being in a surprising relationship? That's the part I was taking as a hint. Of course that's a super-vague hint. What are some other interpretations? Higgins tried his darnedest to court Emily, maybe he finally wins.

I wondered why they were still at large. The Inspector was probably in a coma for a long time, leaving William and the boys to put the evidence together that eventually led them to the docks. I guess it will make more sense once we see the full episode. I got the impression it may be Edna's stepson that said something. George asked him if he'd seen anything 'funny' going on at the docks. I assume that's who the boy is anyway as William told George the boy would stay in custody until the O'Sheas were arrested. I figured it had to be Edna's stepson or else why say that to George?

I hope you're wrong (sorry! ) about George/Emily-I want to see George with someone else. Yes, the show made a mistake dropping her, but maybe now they're fixing it by bringing her back? You know, now that they've both mellowed out with experience and age, they're even better now? I was always hoping for a Ruby/George relationship. I always liked their chemistry. Ruby is just so fun. I would be against Ruby/George for the same reason I'm against George/Emily - it just feels incestuous. I love the character of Ruby, too, though. I'd like to see her on the show again.

For that you need breathing machines, feeding machines, etc.

That's worse than George.

He could be drifting in and out of consciousness for a few weeks and unable to talk to anyone. I think this season is starting right where it left off last season and therefore would be a matter of weeks (if not days) as opposed to 6 months or more like they’ve done in the past. If they could think of freezing Dr. Roberts for years with the hope of finding a cure for his ailment why wouldn’t they try to keep the “Police Chief” alive for a few weeks to allow him some recovery time?

Amnesia is the only other explanation I can think of. No hint from the Sworn To Secrecy promo?

I didn't see that one so I can't speak to it and Maureen Jennings’ response about the Inspector’s fate in this one only got me more worried than reassured. They are very tight lipped about this. If anything, their promos lean toward scaring the heck out of me. My only hope is that he is listed in later episodes so that means he'll probably make it.

The scenes we saw from ep1 were the same as the fan expo. Check out IMDB for season 8, the cast are up on some of them.

We've also seen pics of him hanging around the set, so I think the MM team is just trying to do a good job of scaring us. I really hope they weren't testing to see how much we care, though. Personally, I don't even like Slorach.

The panel is worth watching - quite a few hints - perhaps innuendos are a better word - get thrown out there. Helene was probably trolling about William needing to work on his kissing, though, lol.
I know that William (not Yannick) is a repressed personality type that might need help with his "kissing". Maybe Julia could get him a touch of Absinth? In that episode, William's guard was down, and he was doing just fine in the kissing department, as was Julia. Perhaps the Absinth could be a wedding present from George. I did appreciate that William was ever the gentleman, however, when Julia suggested they wait for a more opportune time. It would be good though, to see a more assertive William versus the William that is so quick to shut down his emotions. (Reference the scene after the trial and they were walking down the street. When William suggests they go to supper to celebrate Julia says that they are both at fault over Darcy's death.)Wham! He shuts down. I do agree that is beautiful that neither Julia nor William demands the other to change, and just accept it as part of who they are.
I liked George and Emily together. Maybe they each get a new romantic interest. I never liked Enid and William. She struck me as the demanding type, and always had William feeling like he had to apologize for something. I too liked the idea that Higgins got a little "henpecked" by having a dominant personality in his new lady love. It will be fun to see how that develops.

I agree Helene was trolling, but her remark did get me thinking about a lot! I also agree that William does shut down very quickly, and, for a patient science-minded man, does not stand up to personal challenges very well! He really does wait for the relationship to come to him. In regard to Enid: Am I the only one who thinks she had crazy eyes? What was that about Higgins being henpecked?

In regard to Enid: Am I the only one who thinks she had crazy eyes? No, there was always something I didn't like about her but couldn't put my finger on it. You just have!
