The 2 options I mentioned would only stop them from having "marital relations" which is something we would ever see (as a scene) on this show anyway (remember W closed the door on us last week?). For us the audience, nothing would change except J & W might have more than the usual daydreams! Ooooh! Yes telephone calls....but don't forget the operators listening in, not to mention everyone on the party line. lol, now this is reminding me of that episode in Nothing too Good for a Cowboy when Gloria and Rich are desperate for a little nookie but just can't get the timing right! That show had a good married couple, but then it didn't last long enough to prove anything.

I was wondering if he'd ever had a TV wife before MM.

Just watched the CBC video of the cast forum for the 100th episode. At one point Helene talked about a scene with Julia and Murdoch in their room and her trying on a new style corset and it being 'dangerous" for her. I'm going to assume from that, that quite probably then Julia is pregnant near the end of the season and the new "S" shaped corsets would have been dangerous for pregnant women. It would also explain Christine Jennings' comment about finding a way to have them together but not together into next season. If Julia did get get pregnant she probably would have an extremey fragile pregnancy given her history and likely her doctor would suggest no marital relations for the duration. Either that or William injures his back..... Perhaps she is referring to the fact that corsets, if laced too tightly, could kill you. The 'new style' corsets that came into vogue during the Edwardian Era were much shorter than corsets had been and primarily reduced the size of the waist instead of encasing the entire torso.

Oooh, so Julia laced one a bit too tight, couldn't breath, passed out, and William had to rush in to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation? Actually Julia never actually passed out, she was just feeling like a bit of mouth to mouth at the moment and William obliged...
