Snacky is conspicuously silent. I wonder if she found a source and is now ded of squee? LOL! No I just had a lot of stuff I had to do today, and I didn't get home until really late. I missed all the good Twitter chat. I'm now thinking I will need a seat belt for the squee, though.

I thought Julia said piss ant but then I realized it was pissant. Pissant means a person of no value. Though piss ant is pretty funny and pissant's origin's have to do with pesky, smelly ants. Learn something new every day! Is it related to peasant or some European variation of that word?

Well, these 2 episodes were truly wonderful, what an introduction to the season 8 I really enjoyed them. The plot on the suffragettes' movement and the appearance in the 2nd episode of Clara Brett Martin (need to read more about her) make me so grateful for the rights I have now and that I shouldn't take for granted because women from the past have fought so hard for our freedom. It was also very well juxtaposed with the horrendous conditions the other women were suffering at the end of another woman (torture, slavery, being sold etc…) What a spectrum this episode covered. Btw can someone tells me what language Slorach's mother and the women were speaking (is it Swedish, Finnish or something close to that?). I'm glad Brackenreid is back on the side of the law, he was a bit scary being bent on revenge like he was and I'm very happy he's getting his job and office back (although I admit I will miss Det. Slorach it was very nice to see him again on the show). George and Edna….hum I'm intrigued now (I'm sure Emily & George will get back together at some point but in the meantime I'm happy to see Edna back as George and her had a good connection in the pilot episode). Now for the spineless brat Leslie Garland, hopefully that's the last time we hear or see from him ever again as William "law of the jungle" attitude probably scared him off for good (at least I hope so). Very sorry for the novel like post but I've had so many good things to say about it. Roll on episode #3 now I'm more than ready!!!!

My only comment is that I think William is uber-hot but otherwise my lips are sealed. I am perfectly content to wait for you and snacky to lose your minds . OMG, I think some unleashing the beast is implied here... ZOMG!!!!! Just finished it-all I better say is that Julia better marry him soon because I don't think the tie is enough to hold the beast back for much longer. Loved alpha!William, and loved how he just looked suggestively at her when she stroked the tie-no attempt was made to stop her. But all that, and no kiss? Tease!!! But yes, all in all, a great episode, and one that should have been a 2 hour special. Okay, ded now. Will write more later.

I did eventually get it from CBC-you're right-the quality isn't great, but it satisfies my curiosity and then I can wait for the higher quality versions for 2nd and 3rd viewings!!

That makes sense. I quite liked his "ma". William's expression was very cute when he was standing between the Slorachs. Did she have advice, re: dallying on the wedding? Oddly enough-the only mention of a date is made at the very end when Slorach tells him to stop lollygagging and marry her before he steals her. After mentioning it repeatedly last week-nothing this week. But I think dallying William is a thing of the past. He seemed to enjoy Julia stroking the tie.

I thought the tie was actually going to come off, and there was going to be actual unleashing of the jungle love! But that tie twiddling was very suggestive, and it means exactly what we all think it means. William was evidently taking notes from Brackenreid the whole time. And I guess even though he was dealing with his case in one compartment, he had another compartment keeping tabs on Julia's situation. I think he was definitely Leslie-stalking. Julia is sooooooooooooo turned on by Alpha!William... But not even a kiss? That tie needed to get a little looser there...!

I couldn't understand why I got in trouble for using it...

Yes he does seem strong and confident at the end. What is a dallying over? Brackenreid is back in his office. All is right with William's world now. William needs to take the hints that he's being barraged with.

There will be no jungle love until the wedding night-but now that they're engaged, he can allow Julia some liberties with the tie. Some-she doesn't get to take it off until they've put a ring on it.

Our prediction that Julia could get Leslie thrown off the case because of past bad behavior was true. CC's theory about trafficking women was true. I'm still a little confused about whether Dawkins was in on the trafficking before he tried to report it. And CC is happy that Slorach didn't die! I'm shipping George/Edna! Getting closer to episode 100. (Anyone hear wedding bells yet...?)

Well they've certainly kissed before. I was expecting at least some passionate liplock, and possibly the need to clear the top of a desk. After all, William did just save Julia from Leslie Garland...

I really liked the noir look of the whole episode. I know the era is early for noir, but I hope they continue with that style.
To balance the noir, William was smiling a lot - even in minor scenes. Maybe this is to underscore the fact that he's generally happy now that he's getting married? All is right in his world? He seemed to be working more effectively with Slorach once he knew Brackenreid was going to be okay, too.

I would have liked a Murdoch in Ragtime style kiss afterwards, but we did get unimpeded tie play. I'm happy with that-for now.
